In 1951 Archie Moore had 18 Bouts, including in those were a win and a loss against Harold Johnson, it shows how much these guys had to fight to earn money to survive.

Imagine if he and Ezzard Charles were around today, they would have been millionaires.

Moore was a great story teller, he told the press he learned the secrets of nutrition from the aborigines, but said that he did actually get an idea from them, because on their long treks they lived on dried kangaroo meat which they chewed.

I'd loved to have met Moore, he seems like such a character, his autobiography feels like you're sitting down next to him, great little book.

I'm sure Moore could have picked up the world Middle weight title had he been given a shot at it. There was a bunch of great fighters in the 40s who were all avoided by the champions and Moore fought them all including Jimmy Bivins, Holman Williams, Shorty Hogue, Jack Chase, Ezzard Charles.... only Moore and Charles managed to get title shots.

Both looked like drought victims at the weigh-in. Tarver TKO 6/PTS if he doesn't land his money punch, or Johnson PTS.
