Anyone else feel gay is particularly 'cool'?

Unless cool is code for acceptable, as in, I'm not allowed to say unacceptable, but I can say uncool?

You call someone a friend who in your words 'repulses you'? Also, even if he does try to shock people with his 'antics' do you think all gay people do? I could introduce you to quite a few straight people who are probably a lot more shocking than your friend. What are his 'antics' by the way? What is this 'gay is cool' in the media you're talking about? I have never noticed anything like that, or is it that there is more acceptance in the media and on television these days? Which is nothing but a good thing.
It's not his friend that repulses him, but his friend's actions. I'm sure we all have a friend or two who does something we find disgusting. :TU:

I understand Fraser's point, with people like Perez Hilton in the American media. Being gay almost seems like a fashion statement sometimes.

I have a work colleague who I think is gay. He hasn't said anything about it, but I accidentally noticed an email he sent to a guy that seemed to go beyond friendship. This colleague has talked about having an arranged marriage (he's Muslim). So it seems he doesn't think it's cool.

honestly, I feel the people here saying they're not uncomfortable with 2 men kissing in front of them, if they're not lying, are very much in a minority.

Exactly, it`s the actions I don`t like.

As for what antics, if you want specifics then I can mention an attempt to explain to me the pleasures of felching. If that doesn`t repluse a man then I don`t know what will. Don`t even get me started on the "Space docking" episode.

SG1985 Everyone is different, you might not mind two guys banging each other, whilst I do. I just simply do not understand it. Imagine what they are missing out on.

Imagine going to Kiev for a night out in Decadance nightclub and instead of heading for the gorgeous birds that pack out the place, you are eyeing up a geezer instead. Pure madness.

I imagine a large percentage of people have been uncomfortable with public homosexuality since way before the 80's. In fact I imagine its always been the case, and always will be?

Its madness to you, and to me, I don't get why they fancy other men. But it does not make me uncomfortable in the slightest. So this mates actions aren't things he's done in front of you? Just that he told you? and that makes you uncomfortable? Also, can two man space dock? I thought a vagina was quite integral to that particular pass time?
I think this guy`s version of Space Docking was quite different.

Without going into details, it involved a geezer laying on his back with mouth open, the other geezer stood above with his "Dice" dangling. Dice dangler procceds to lower dice into aforementioned mouth of geezer laying on his back.

Idiocy if you ask me and surely in the grand scheme of things, simply wrong.

Many of my friends find it weird that I don't like to see either gay men or gay women kissing. I find it weird that people can be accepting of one but not the other.

If people want to be gay then fair enough but I don't know many straight people all over each other, kissing and touching each other up when they're not even drunk but I see it all the time from gay people. I also don't hear too many staright people being so crude about their personal life in front of people when they are not drunk but again always hear gay people being crude about their personal life in public and gay people get away with what they say more on tv than what straight people do.

I think the media have a lot to do with what's wrong with the country and what people think.

I think that it's also great how well this discussion has gone, no one has really got out of hand, just a shame it's on a boxing website and not a news one.

Homosexuality should be kept behind closed doors, I don't want it rammed down my throat in public.

Odd choice of words. Where do you get it rammed down your throat? I have never noticed a lot of public display of affection by a gay couple outside of canal street in Manchester, the friends of mine who are gay say they find it too intimidating to do it anywhere else, do you think they should feel intimidated for doing something straight people do everywhere? Why is it OK for straight people and not gay people?

Guess that went straight over your head

I stand corrected. Teabagging it is.

I found the following explanation of space docking, which made me smile.

The true art of space docking by Phil McGroin
Once the male has found a eager and willing participant, after a 3 day diet of imodium and peanut butter, he then begins the art of seduction with his new friend. Once they have properly stretched and are well hydrated, they proceed to align with one anothers orifices. The males brown eye, to the womans hoo haa. The male then begins to shat his ever so perfect poo inside the hoo haa. (just like in moon raker)

The biggest culprit of 'promoting' overt homosexual activity are fuckin' lads' mags!!!! It would seem that many people don't mind it when they are cracking one off over a couple of plastic tarts pretending to snog each other. Judging by what you see on any weekend in 'Booze Britian' (TM) acting gay is the best way to get a man for some women.

No idea. Maybe a back up plan for when you run out of toilet paper?

Mooresy`s about to destroy Rhodes in a few minnutes, so the missus will have to wait for my attempt at a maiden space dock mission :bag:

apparently Griffin has challenged Straw to a one-on-one tv debate, with no heckling audience. I'd like to see it. I found Straw's weasling out of the question on immigration, as the Baroness did on homosexuality/islam, cringeworthy. Sh!t like that just drives people into the BNPs arms!

Why should they do it in private? If it makes you uncomfortable its you with the problem isn't it? I don't hear gay people complaining about seeing straight people kiss.[/quote] Sorry mate but there is a huge difference between men with women and men with men. Homosexuality is unnatural and belongs behind closed doors. Of course we see men and women kissing at railway stations and airports etc but that is acceptable normal behaviour. It sickens me when people try to normalise something that is neither normal or natural. The law was only changed to stop homosexuals from being blackmailed. It was never intended that they should go this far and ram their unnatural behavior in our faces. Yes, I feel uncomfortable with it and I have a right to feel that way.
