I really thought Moore would be to strong, but Rhodes proved he has what it takes at Light Middle.
Well done to all of Ryans team

Morning lads (is it?) Still to get some shut eye.
Wales is takes a bit of class mate to post that, so thanks very much.
Can't wait to see the fight back again on the recording.
These two deserve all the accolades going.
What a classic.
When I'm back in reality I'll be a bit more subjective.
However would just like to wish Jamie all the very very best. What a great bloke, with a lovely family.
There had to be a winner and a loser and as dignified as Jamie was in the post fight interview, so were his close family after the fight.
Get up to Middleweight Jamie, get a couple under your belt, then get the rematch on with Macklin.
Good night, and God bless !

It was a brilliant fight and both guys deserve all the plaudits in the world.
Ryan was brave as hell going toe to toe with Moore and he seems like a top man and top men always deserve rewards.
Moore - looked spent after 6 rounds, still a very good fighter and should move up in weight.
Classic fight and a great shot in the arm for British boxing

I thought Moore would win this comfortably. It just shows you that in boxing you can never be sure. So many factors play a part on the night.
I still have`nt seen the fight. Stuck in Athens with a crappy connection.
Is there a torrent anywhere so I can have a go at downloading it? Nothing on youtube yet?

Thrilled for you, Ryan and Dave Coldwell - as I said to you last night I honestly thought Jamie would win and prove to be too strong so lots of humble pie have to be eaten here!!!
Well done to you all!!

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
I read a pole elsewhere and there were 20+ saying Jamie would win by stoppage and another 10+ by point.
Only 1 person Ryan to win..on points.
Against Michele Piccirillo, Moore looked in incredible shape (thanks to KK) but this time a few people said he looked a bit fleshy going into the fight and seemingly the weight might have been a different this time around. I'm sure Jamie will enlighten us as to what issues (if there were any) plagued him beforehand.
That said, let's not take owt away from Ryan who did the bizz and in emphatic fashion.
A top top fight !

WELL DONE RYAN RHODES

Congratulations Mick, bet you enjoyed that
DD . Its been a long old road, hasn't it? I leaned towards Jamie Moore winning because of his all-round game, but felt Ryan's greater power could be a factor and so it proved.
I also have to give massive praise to Rhodes and David Coldwell. I thought Ryan's tactics were, frankly, ludicrous at the fight's outset but was emphatically proven wrong. He stuck to and executed his tactics to the letter, even when he was absorbing some stick in round three. There's always been doubts about Rhodes' chin and mental resolve but he really answered his critics last night. It's great to see a likeable bloke prove the doubters wrong after years of been on the outside looking in.
Rhodes is an inspiration for other fighters who have lost their way. He looked finished after the Blundell defeat and I remember him marking time deep on undercards off TV lacking in confidence against journeymen. His career was going nowwhere. Coldwell has also played a huge part in his renaissance. He's re-installed self-belief in Ryan, recaptured his enthusiasm for the sport and got a promoter (initially Warren then latterly Hayemaker) to engineer another opportunity for him which he's duly grasped. Rhodes did it the hard way last night and produced a wonderful performance, full of heart, tenacity and excitement. Perhaps also Coldwell will get proper credit for being one of the brightest young trainers in Britain for the work he has done with Rhodes (Coldwell also did a great job with Kel Brook either side of the Ingles).
I also feel for Jamie Moore, he's a fantastic fighter with sound values who has been unlucky with injuries and breakthrough fights not quite materialising. I hope he picks himself up, dusts himself down and comes back again.

Fairy tale stuff. I still can't beleive it. What a thriller. The pair of them showed the best of boxing last night and are credit to their sport and themselves.A remarkable fight and i simply could'nt be more pleased for Ryan.I hope Moore doesn't lose heart from this becuase he was brilliant last night and would still beat the rest out there and so has lots to offer. He should come back and fight at the same level and win.Big props to dave and mick as well who have been so, so supportive; a real team effort and its resulting in ryan being european champion.Brilliant.

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
Well done
It was a very entertaining fight I had Moore down to win but was surprised after round 2 Rhodes was such an underdog (6/1) but Rhodes fought a clever fight and finished it clinically

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
I'll add my congrats. The fight seemed to be going exactly to plan - where did Rhodes get this new found toughness from. He was taking more shots than i've ever seen from a very big, strong LMW and showed virtually no affects! Amazing.
Anyway here's the video for the guys who were asking

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
that's a world class win for rhodes. he's done well. the comeback has worked out very successfully, with wins over vuma and jamie moore. regardless what happens next, the lad's done bloody well. what better preparation for a world title shot than a win over a handful with skills like moore? don't want to dwell on this thread as i'm a fan of the manc fighters, not the yorkshire pickpockets! not seen rhodes ever come back from crisis to win, so he has really done something big.

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
Gotta add that I picked Moore, under the impression that Rhodes was more fragile - He showed he wasn't tonight.
I'm pleased for him as it happens, but he needs to move on quickly in my opinion.
As for Moore, it's a bad loss, but if the weight was an issue then he can come again, but the talk of world titles is firmly on the back burner for a while.

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
Now then, Sooty, thanks for that post mate.
I've nearly got enough material for a best seller now - and all will be complete if he can add a World Title to finish the last chapter.
Time to sit back and let it all sink in mate then its back to business.
Thanks to the regulars on here for the messages - very much appreciated.
I'll make sure Ryan reads them all.
BEAGLEBOY WHERE ARE YOU ?

Re: twenty-six. Congratulations!
I just want to echo the words of Ben Carey.... so well put. Both guys showed great class in and out of the ring.
I really hope Ryan gets the world title opportunity now, I fear it might have come a year or so to late - but he deserves the chance and it would be such a great night if he proves me wrong.
Domestically, Small vs Rhodes would be a good one - but I'm hoping it would be as a defense of his WBC title
