Why are you maintaining this lie when you've been busted on it completely in the past? Are you just determined to humliiate yourself on a continual basis?[/quote]
Lets not make this thread about that dickhead.
Hard Luck Jamie, monumental effort as always. Its a cold comfort that if u had to lose, it was to another class act in Ryan.
Props to taking a fight you didnt need to, and good luck with whatever path u wish to take. I think another stab at middle is a good idea but appreciate how many hard battles and great nights you've given us so we'll all support u whatever you decide.

You're right fella, good call. Should all be about the magnificent Jamie Moore and hoping he'll come back from this setback strongerstevieb_8006 wrote:Lets not make this thread about that dickhead.

Absolutely, the fighters deserve so much more respect than childish and snidey forum posts.stevieb_8006 wrote:Lets not make this thread about that dickhead.
What a fantastic win for Rhodes. I spent weeks telling any non boxing fan to watch this fight and I was proud of the boxers for putting on a great advert. No backward steps, hugging or clinching.. these two could have fought without the ref such was the respect.
Their behaviour and reactions before and after the fight were unbelieveably professional and a pleasure to watch. From what I have already heard back from my non-boxing mates, both Rhodes AND Moore have just increased their fan base no end.

Re: MOORESY
let him make smartass comments about Paul Williams, it was only 18 months ago when Williams was a 1/8 favourite and he lost to Quintana... and now he's back as the top fighter in the division again, just shows you how you can bounce back.
Re: MOORESY
How about Barker Vs. Moore at middle with the winner facing Macklin?

Yep, even the ref applauded them - and no wonder, easiest night's work he's probably ever had, only actions he had to take were tell them to touch gloves, and warn each of them once for low blows. Re: MOORESY
MOORSEY your a gentleman and a credit to boxing. Your a warrior in the ring and everyone knows your give your heart and soul in every fight and you must be one of the most respected guys in sport. Outside of the ring I know you do plenty for charity (and not just looking after boxers from khasakstan like Matvienko) - a fundraising event I organised for a close friend was boosted by a donation of a glove signed by yourself and Amir Khan and then you went that extra step and got me a signed Ricky Hatton glove at the height of his popularity. You didnt have to do that and we raised over £3500 on the night, but like everything you always go that extra mile for others and the story of Jamie Moore is not ready to end yet. This is just another chapter beginning. ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

Re: MOORESY
Just a brilliant fight, two of British boxings finest warriors, amazing heart show by both.
Jamie Moore showed real class in defeat, and the character to come back from this even stronger.
Maybe middleweight - he looked a huge lightmiddle, and the thin legs a bit unsteady sometimes.
A shot at Sylvester would be ideal, Jamie would be a good bet to beat him, even in Germany. His team should try to get that by hook or by crook

Re: MOORESY
Great domestic fight Moore will come again if he stays at LMW or moves up to MW, at domestic level he could fight Small, Barker, Murray, rematch Macklin(Euro), they're many good fights for him
Re: MOORESY
Just like to add my respect for both fighters last night, although as a huge fan of Jamie's I am a bit gutted this morning. Agree with everyone who says Jamie epitomizes everything good about boxing, well done mate and well done to Ryan Rhodes, cant think of a fighter who deserves it more in all honesty. Hope they both get some big fights and to make some decent cash. Great fight lads, well done.

Re: MOORESY
moore is my favourite fighter & ive observed his style for along time & allways have enjoyed how he breaks a fighter down with his classy pressure fighting, outjabbing good boxers like jones to move in & take them apart.
moore showed none of his skills & didnt look at the races too me,he seemed to wear himself out,his shots seemed to have nothing in them & rhodes was shipping in some great punches & landing alarmingly clean which would put any fighter in trouble.
i mean moore looked world class in his last contest i understyand the weight is hard, but he is dedicated & has been helped by kerry kayes??
moore really done well to get up as he collapsed to the canvas with nothing left, his heart peeled him of the floor & tried in vain to turn the tide, which almost did :!:
cant see his confidence being to dented as he knows he was running on an empty tank.hopefully rhodes can get his world title fight & get a big pay day, both true gents & warriors.

Re: MOORESY
I hope jamie does not lose any confidence over this as last night was a boxing match of the highest level. He should come back at the same level, albeit at middleweight maybe? Still some big fights/wins ahead for him me thinks. A an absolute credit to the sport and I felt humbled watching that fight.
Re: MOORESY
that didn't look like jamie moore to me. i know rhodes is strong and tricky and this of course has plenty to do with it. but it just did not look like mooresy & if there were weight problems, i can believe it: this is not an excuse from a moore fight - all fights have factors that need weighing up, and this could be one of 'em. i think he should be bloody proud of himself with that rally in the middle of the 7th round. it was a crafy, brave, sustained turnaround. it was a stunning round of boxing. i believe the moore of the dzuman and piccirillo bouts would have won this fight.
hope moore is alright after that defeat. only fights he's really lost are the 2 where he seemed out of gas.

Re: MOORESY
REMATCH, PLEASE.
Moore has the respect of everyone in the game, and rightly so. He doesn't deserve to be written out of the title picture because of a loss to a difficult opponent like Ryan Rhodes. I'd like to see them do it again, but it all depends on whether he feels he can still do the weight. It could even be a blessing in disguise if he does move up though, because I think Martinez would be an exceptionally tough fight for him and at middleweight he could potentially fight Macklin again in a huge domestic fight, or even get a shot at Pavlik. There are certainly no huge names for him to be fearful of at middleweight.

Hiya fella's, just read through all the posts so far and want to say a big thanks for all the support. Glad you all enjoyed the fight, but i'm definately moving up to Middleweight, it was REALLY hard getting the last 5-6lb's off and has been for the last 18months/2 years, but i've been getting away with it coz the fights have finished early. Hopefully have a fight or 2 and then look for a big fight. I was winning the fight the other night on empty, so the move up will give me my engine back, which is a big part of my style and what was missing. I'll fight anyone, I think you all know that, so hopefully the big fights can be made. I just hope I get my chance. Again thanks for the kind messages.

I knew it was 'Mooresy'! But every git posted different takes on the name so I kept editing it-at least 3 times!
Good stuff!
The stamina got you in the end.
Middle will be good for you by the sounds of it. As s former euro champ you are more of a 'name' - the big fights will come.

Thought weight had to be an issue, you looked totally fekked at the end of the fourth in your corner - blowing like killer whale.Mooresy wrote:Hiya fella's, just read through all the posts so far and want to say a big thanks for all the support. The strange thing was, you looked to have recovered from the knockdown pretty well, which is remarkable considering how gassed you must have been. You even looked to have Rhodes hurt, it looked for a moment that you might even stop him, but I guess you were just really running on fumes and heart by that point.
You'll be a lot healthier at 160, risky business fighting below your best weight for so long. Probably have a lot more power on your shots too, good luck in the next division up.

I have no doubts that YOU will win big fights up at Middleweight.Good luck, its been a pleasure watching you for all these years and I look forward to seeing you in more big fights and getting the credit you deserve!! I was the polar opposite of you in the ring (training at the Ingles gym) -unfit, tense, and just not very good generally, so really appreciate how good you actually are.
