Small-Rhodes?

Post by Rocky Balboa »

As we all know this was scheduled then it was cancelled due to Rhodes being ill or injured. With Ryan's good win last night, hopefully we will now get Rhodes-Small!

Rhodes is now the European LMW champ, while Small is the British & Commonwealth champ, so it makes sense. I think its a bout Britain wants to see.

How do we see this going?

Ryan would stop Smallsy!! No doubt!! Styles make fights and Small's awkward style wouldn't faze Ryan!! Don't forget he's seen all that before in the Ingle gym!!

I'd bet my £100 against your penny that this fight won't ever happen.

It's hard because Small should be looking at the Euro title but Rhodes needs to be looking to move on quickly so it may not happen now unless Rhodes loses his next fight or he don't get a world title shot soon.

On the point of who would win, I don't know how it would go, Rhodes can't have too many more big nights left in him and Small needs to start better, he also seems to be quite open to punches. It might come down to who's punch is the biggest shock to each fighter.

Do you seriously think we'd give that a*****le any oppertunity of earning a decent purse after his conduct following the enforced Rhodes withdrawal ?
I can't go into detail but save to say, (for a change) he made himself look a fool.
Bang on the money mickey.
He can do the rouns with the begging bowl - but no contributions here.
Rhodes is not about looking backwards anyway :TU:
While we are on that subject can we all please finally put to bed the ridiculous mirage that has built up around Ryan that he's a bottler and often walks away from fights.
Afiter Friday I hope you finally see that this lad is a true warrior who's come through adversity and achieved great things - and hopefully more to come.
DG in particular I'd like to see you a little more gracious.
No one this side of the fence would do anything other than echo every post about Jamie.
However I think you owe Ryan a few plaudits amongst others.

rhodes is a legend really, think he has lost some of that power he had as a kid :!: but has compensated with heart & determination & has showed he has many layers, which unearths him as a warrior, never thought rhodes would of had that mould, many winco bank fighters have never had the respect for there bottle, nelson etc. but rhodes there aint no deniying :!:

the only thing missing from his last fight was the french crop

Small vs Moore would be a much more interetsing fight, though I think Moore would spank him.

Because he ducked him last year?

And the Rhodes of last night would be well beaten by "The Scream" he was comprehensivly out boxed bar a few good body shots untill the 5th round.

Sounds just like Ricky Hatton on Witter. For sure, it may be true, but it's best not to bang on about this "giving people the opportunity" etc, as it sounds very pretentious- and in my opinion is the single biggest thing that put me off Ricky Hatton

At Rhodes age he should be looking to hopefully maximise on his resurgence and that surely means a world title shot. Small just shouldn't be on his radar right now.
