Froch - Dirrell, following ITV 4 showing

Post by n1ebf »

Ok...apologies it's another thread but now it's been on the ordinary tele, I;m sure a lot of people will have seen it tonight for the first time.

No disrespect to Froch who I thought didn't fight a bad fight, but the flashes where Dirrell was aggressive showed a much more dangerous fighter than Froch is.

I also, as a spectacle, didn't think it was a bad fight. Quite surprised by the comments last week that made it out as absolute toilet.

If Dirrell got aggressive a bit earlier he could have got Carl Froch out of there, as I had predicted he would in this fight. It was almost as though the point deduction, which I am as clueless about as he was, that seemed to get him going.

I like Froch's gutsy attitude, but to me Dirrell is a much more talented fighter than Froch, give him another year or 2 and this boy will be right up there.

Look out for Froch's woman on "Celebrities" Talk Crap in The Kitchen for Money. Looks full of herself to me. I can only assume this is the aim as she's on the camera nearly as much as him. Is this going to become a regular thing like that pitiful 3 year campaign of Froch's trying to get the superior Calzaghe into the ring, til she gets on Hell's Kitchen? I hope not.

clueless as ever about one of your posts.

Oh yeah...,meant to say. Watched Dirrell - Hanshaw on Friday on Youtube and whilst it was good I didn't think it was especially flash ironically, yet some of Dirrell's work versus Froch was class, I didn't think he would be that fast but he was, every bit.

Froch tottered back to his stool at the end of the tenth. Dirrell wasn't staggered once.

Hilarious Pocket.

well, in my opinion, 3 minutes of posturing in a very selected looking spot to me didn't look all that coincidental.

See if I'm wrong in 12 months time.

Only one thing. Unlike the footballers that can serve up sh*te, if Froch gets beat then it's curtains.

Maybe you'd call it disrespect, but for me, I tune in to see the fights, not some dolly-bird posturing behind the cameras off the back of boyfriend getting smacked in the face. You have a lot to learn.

She said the she was trying to use her relationship with him to get a job on TV. She is a complete fake, not to mention really annoying. She is overrated in terms of looks as well. She is nice, but there are loads of other girls out there who look as good as her. The clubs here on Friday nights are filled with girls just as hot.

If you look at it from that perspective than maybe she isn't a fake, but I believe anybody who uses their relationship with someone for an alterior motive is a fake. I don't think she would give a shit about Carl if he couldn't get her anywhere, and therefore I think shes a fake.

In between rounds did she turn to Froch's mum and say that Dirrell was boxing like a faggot?!

Anyway, on second viewing I think Froch is pretty poor. One paced, clumsy, dirty tactics. He's done well to reach the pinnacle but I certainly doubt he will win the tournament.

Andre Dirrell is ridiculous. He should have been thrown out for not fighting. Did you see mid fight when Froch put his gloves up and walked in? Dirrell couldn't land, he panicked and fell over. Froch lacks the variety, & is clumsy coming forward - but if your opponent refuses to fight it's hard to do anything.

Super 6 is a great idea but this Dirrell wanted to turn the first fight into a farce. Millions of dollars have been invested in this - an attempt to restore some excitement and order in boxing - and it is clear that it was a huge mistake putting Dirrell in. I think some of you (some) act like old women - "Bunce should be ashamed!", "The fix was in!", and "Carl Froch is finished!"

No, Froch is not finished. He looked fit and strong and when he fights less mobile fighters like Kessler, it will be a completely and utterly different fight.

Dirrell's shots weren't even any good. They were flashy shots but they were really pea shooters, aimed to hit AT the target not THROUGH the target. He was already moving back when he threw each shot. Every time Rawling said "ooh, good shot" it made me cringe. When Thaxton said "lovely move" I thought, erm, no he's literally running & not doing anything proactive...If Dirrell had put anything into his shots from the start, he wouldn't have that split second to get away and Froch would hit him better.

Thank what ever deity is out there that Andre Dirrell did not get rewarded for that heinous performance. Aftre this tourney, he is on his own. He will end his career like Derrick Gainer, answering the Boxingtalk mailbag - no one will want him. Carl Froch frightened him badly, it seems. Abraham has more precision that Froch so hopefully he KOs Dirrell. The former "Smurf" - the world needs you.
