Liam Cameron - Debut

Post by Spud »

As some will know Liam Cameron made his debut last night against Matt Scriven and won very comfortably over 6 rounds.

Whilst I will suspect some of you rather harsh critics on here  will state so what - I honestly thought Liam was highly impressive and whilst Liam has a lot to prove before anyone can state he will do this or that - all I will state is that lad will be a headline fighter when the time is right - whilst I am extremely biaised the last time I was that impressed with a debut was Carl Froch's first fight.

Liam is a quiet and unassuming lad who took everything in his stride - I thought he would have got overly nervous in front of a sell out crowd at Sheffield City Hall - but it was just another night to the lad.

All I will say fellow boxrec chaps - keep your eye on his progress - he is going to do well for himself.

Yes spud, I was also impressed as was Matt Scriven who doesn't lavish praise easily and clearly calls a spade a spade. Cameron was as cool as a cucumber and he also supports a proper football team!

Good to see you Jim!!! :TU:

Like your article mate:

Liam Cameron Debut

I was mightily impressed by Scriven after the fight mate - He got me to find Liam and they had a good 5 minute chat about the fight and then Liam's progression - Matt was extremely humble in his praise and really does believe Liam could make something of himself if he keeps his feet on the ground and "lives the life" a boxer should.

By the way Pal - I am sorry I couldn't get you, Shaggy, Andy Whittle and the others closer to the ring mate - I was bang out of order!!!

Good report ,but i have to disagree with the razak knockdown ,femi even went to the ref at the end of the round to say it wasnt a knockdown and trainer joe said afterwards it was a tangle as sid attacked.Good performance by femi tho as he threw every punch in the book.A nice lad and very sporting too point that out to the ref.
Liam cameron looked polished and calm i wa impressed.

60-53 did not tell the fully story, femi got hurt to the body, then in the next round should have been knocked out,he was all over the place, all against Old looser Sid

why the cutsman in the corner????

Big Tim Witherspoon is picking Cameron for the top. Spud, did you ever get that blue tooth up and running? :TU:
Nice article Terry

Gotta give young Liam a real boost hearing someone like Witherspoon rates him highly and see's him having a good career. Was impressed with Liam on the evening. Boxed well and a really nice kid too.

Look forward to seeing his career develop
