Im not sure of his amature results exactly but they said something like 130 fights and high ko percentage.

He is a very solid fighter with good tecnique and power, He looks perfect size for cruiser or could bulk up a little more and become a really good heavy weight.

He was very impressive in his debut and had his opponent on the back foot from the first punch. He knocked his opponent into the corner with a glancing blow that had him taking an 8 count, he then opened up and got the stoppage about 20 seconds later.

Adam Forsyth

Post by Auzzie001 »

I just watched Adam Forsyth's second pro fight. He was pretty impressive, he showed good technique, power and some decent speed. The fight was stopped in the first round, the opponent dropped once then about 30 seconds later copped some punches and looked too be hurt so the ref waved it off. He was in good shape but he could possibly go down a few kilos an fight at Cruiserweight. He had somethign like 130 amateur fights and around 112 wins or so which is great.
Hopefully we get more boxers like this for Australia :TU:

He looked the goods. Hard hitter and quick for a big bloke.

fully agree. He should be able to move through the ranks quickly with his extensive amatuer career (135 fights I believe). Not going to compare him to Povetkin, but look what he has achieved in 15 fights.

Adam Forsyth returns this Friday night! This is great for the Cruiser division :TU:

The Cruiser division is becoming the most interesting division.

Vea
Ammann
Withers
Tuasa
Pitt
Forsythe

The Pacific; Siale,Powencby,Soi.

Some interesting matchups could take place.

glad to hear it. Let's hope the layoff hasn't done him any harm. Is he at cruiser though? Previously, he seemed to be chasing HW fights.

Think Adam fought Shane Cameron as an amateur?
See his fighting Xavier Horan- oh that's a rough one for Horan... he is an actor on the silver screen and not bad with his hands but no where near to face Adam. :shame:

Mate Horan has pulled out, thought you had prehaps talked some sense into him. Good idea he didnt take the fight unless he was looking at specialising in wheelchair scenes or being on life support?

Adam is a talent, just hope he can stay active and keep his head down in the gym.

Sensible decision. Horan has talent but needs way more rounds before he can think about anyone in Forsyth's caliber!

You know it really piss's me off that these wantabe's schedule fights then pull out with less than a week to go.

Do me a favor and f#ck off to a knitting club were you belong......

The chances of Forsyth getting a decent opponent at short notice is slim. He's only option is 1 of these fat punching bags with 0-13 or 3-23.

I've heard people in the past use the Glass is half full saying as opposed to half empty. Well if it's ok to say that these blokes with 0-13 or so on are keeping boxing alive(half Full) well it's these other wankers that are truly destroying it with backing out of fights all the time..Thus sending in these pissheads that would fight over a disagreement let alone a purse(Half empty).

If the bloke had any talent he wouldn't be pulling out of a fight.

I don't think it's unfair, if you schedule a fight..You Fight! It's 1 thing if your injured, but he's not he's just had a change of mind and stuffed Forsyth around with less than a weeks notice.
This sits well with you, but as stated in my previous post it's detrimental to boxing and it's frustrating.....great for bums though!

I see it far too much to hear your reasoning on being fair :witzend: Who's it fair to?

Horan is raw alright. Besides that whoever accepts a fight pulls out of one for reasons other than injury or something reasonable along those lines, well that's wrong then. If you accept a fight then you fight. Isn't that what a contract usually says?

At least it looks like Forsyth will be busy in the immediate future with his fight this friday night (against kiwi Shaun Salisbury) then a scheduled fight with Michael O'Donnell on Nov. 13th.

Adam made short work of Salisbury.

5-0, 5 KOs, 4 in Round 1. Good start, hope he can keep it up. He can certainly punch.

I know it's early days, but at CW he could really be something. He currently rated 9th in Australia, and i'd like to see him fight anyone in the top 7 after a couple more pro fights. It's a solid division at the moment.

I really admire Adam. He stepped up early and fought Anthony Mccracken and did so in great fashion. Now he has marked Daniel Ammann who can dance all night long. Man this is going to be a great fight. If he is good enough to do what Lawrence Tuausa and many other good fighters couldn't then the sky is the limit for him.

What are your predictions?

Honestly I don't know, thats the beauty of a matchup like this, on one hand you have Forsyth with great am experience and raw power, but Ammann who I've only seen fight twice has already beaten every Cruiser in Australia.

It's as others have said a bout not to be missed.

Props to both guys really but Im thinking this is a bad fight for Ammann I mean the guy has beaten some top aussie contenders and possibly with the right matching could have been 2/3 fights away from getting a title shot.............hes willing to risk it all agaiinst 6-0 Forsyth a fight that will earn him respect in Aussie if he wins but does nothing else for him!!!

Im picking Adam in this one after the step up to McCracken I think another step up to Ammann will only stoke his fire a little more after being fed (and not by choice) the easy wins hes had so far. Adam can crack but not sure he punches as hard as some think? He went 4 rounds with Talemaira!

Man come on. I agree this is a big fight for both but on one hand you talk about Daniel being so great and he has cleaned up the cw div and then you say that this is a no win fight. Already you can see the fire in Forsyth taking Mccracken down first and now hunting Ammann, if its not Ammann he will stalk Vea or Tuausa. Whether he is good enough is another thing but whats the point of being the champ if your going to dodge people. To Daniel's credit he hasnt dodged anyone and dont forget he will want to put on a show for his home crowd.

This like the rest of the card is hard to pick.
