In the latest Coldwell's Corner, the little man with the big opinions, lets rip on the state of TV coverage in the sport and tells us why Ryan Rhodes will beat Jamie Moore. All feedback appreciated.

Interesting to hear it from inside Hayemaker. Its all contingent on Haye beating Valuev really isn't it, then use it as leverage for a wider TV deal.

I'd be very interested to know when the current TV contracts run to (apart from Hennesey ITV, which I know is to the end of 09)

Coldwell talks sense as always, lets hope some more avenues open to broadcast boxing. Boxing's currently being pummelled on the ropes, but lets hope there's a Carl Thompson (Vs Sebastian Rothmann) punch on the way once the market picks up, as it looks to be doing.

Have ESPN ruled themselves out of broadcasting British Boxing?

I agree wth him that the BBC shows stuff that boxing could easily top- golf, cars, horse racing (and they show a lot of that) etc.

However, boxing needs to put forward it better case- promotors need to be putting bills that can really be "sold" to the public- and that means fighters who are well know (a vicious circle, I know) and competative fights.

This anyone fighting anyone for any title needs to be cleaned up.

The problem with boxing is a lot of the genuine element of competition seems to be lacking.

Maybe we can start another facebook group and change the world !

I think it is what it is.

Boxing now ranks well underneath darts and snooker and is no longer a top 10 sport.

Don't know if I agree completely with that statement, OK a average Friday Fight night gets no where near as much viewers as Premierleague snooker or darts, but then Darts and snooker are only seasonal to an extent and they still aren't on every week. Also when you watch snooker or darts on tv you expect to see at least 5 of the top 10 in the world competing and you don't get theat in Boxing on a weekly basis, but when you do, it gets more viewers and interest than most sports in this country.

Put it like this- most people have heard of Jenson Button, or Lewis Hamilton, even if (like me) hey don't like motor car racing at all.

This is because Jenson and Lewis won bona fide, competative world titles.

I really think all this "twitter" integration and general public views on things is ridiculous. Who cares about what "joe bloggs" has to say about important news!? Its like "this is trevor mcdonald, there is serious trouble in afghanistan, Mickey from newcastle says "its real bad, like"

The likes of Jonathan Ross, Russel Brand, Tim Lovejoy, Piers morgan? (or is he on itv?), Vernon Kaye, Most of the presenters on radio 1 (funnily enough Tim Westwood doesn't get on my nerves).

Any other bbc presenters/shows/celebs that are simply crap and should be fired?
Anyone who tells me I should reduce my "carbon footprint" should be fired, I can do what the feck I like thank you very much.

All reality shows should be binned.

Most celebs should be put in a barrel and drowned.

Very true although it's the least interesting form of motorsport, bring back the BTCC and the Superbikes.

I have to agree,
the carbon footprint is all very well and good but even if every house in the UK managed to get neutral the damage countries like russia, china and america do each day will be the equivilent of what we save its stupid.

reality shows should be scarapeed they are only watched by people who have no lives and wish they did

the BBC didnt get involved untill there was a brittish world champ. there was a feeling in 2005 button could of done it after the great 2004 performance and they could of got F1 a year earlier so they would have had coverage to hamiltons title win but they wernt intressted till lewis's popularity had sored

Personally I think you're wey off the mark. These "uneducated fools" present a type of show / programme hence your comment "most on radio 1 actually". Thats where you hit the nail on the head. If you want High brow stuff, try Radio 4 where you'll find a wealth of educated discussed topics. If you want "my lovelly lady lumps" and scott Mills cracking inuendo then try Radio 1.

I agree they can be a bit way-hey when it comes to their web site stuff, I dont listen to the phone in's, but I assume thats what works for the masses, and gets ratings.

Yes TV execs, ban the X factor which pulls in 10m viewers and lets have Brook V Jennings on instead.

Is that seriosuly your view? "fornicate lowering my carbon footprint, whats the point?"

Okay...

Russia have 10 sweets
America has 10 sweets
China has 10 sweets
Adam has 10 sweets

What does that make?

Now, Adam eats his ten sweets.... how many sweets are left?

if it was that big a difference then i would but to be more realistic

Russia have 1 billion sweets
USA has 1 billion sweets
China has 1 billion sweet
UK has half a million sweets

its like when an advert says under £300 and the price is 299.99 the difference is minimal

also the earth isnt supposed to have ice at the poles the unatural thing is keeping the ice there we will never stop climate change because its supposed to change

If everyone takes your view then nothing would ever change, in anything. Seriously be a bit mature about it and try to make a difference for future generations.

There is an argument we're coming out of an ice age, but to preserve our species we need to slow the change. Plus, we've fucked the Ozone layer in the last 100 years almost beyond repair, I say US it was actually an inventor called Thomas Midgely, mostly.

Also, to answer your sweet question, half a million sweets its a lot of sweets.

The UK is a big country with a lot of influence, we need to be global leaders for things to change.

i am being mature and im being realistic. The Ice age argument isnt an argument in achaealogical termps ice and the poles is usually called an ice age.
Midgley is indeed the main culpret when he started off with his rayon and crap fridges

and half a million is a lot but in terms of what the rest of the world does the UK stopping wouldnt help. you are right world leaders do need to make a change but the 3 biggest offenders have to go first and they are not willing to do that so smaller countries wont follow suit.

you may disagree with me not bothering about climate change but thats tough luck

what a great attitude "Im not doing it until he does it" - Plus America is making changes, huge changes to try and combat global warming... enough, probably not, but its a start.

No point rattling on to me about "achaealogical termps" whatever as I dont know what that is. What I do know is people need to make a change, and most are willing to do that, to preserve the planet. im not asking you to go and live in a mud hut with old car tyres for insulation.... but for fucks sakes, recycle your paper, or somehting.

Every tin can recycled is the equivalent of running a 40" plasma TV for 4 hours....

Your probably right though, fornicate it, someone pass me a match to light the tyre pile.

why should we get so excited about saving the human species?

(1) as a species we do a great job of fecking up the world and its other inhabitants

(2) we are also great at killing each other off.

our record is really nothing to shout about, yet somehow we talk about it as though the rest of the world would be worse off and not better off for our absence. confuses me, it does.

I didnt know it was a spelling mistake, didnt know what it meant, the sentance it was written in made it look like you had an indepth knowledge about ice caps, something I dont have! Also, how the fornicate would I know you're dyslexic?

Not asking you to get excited about it, but its self preservation isnt it. Also, I suspect the people that are heavily fecking up in points 1 & 2 arent swampy and his pals! Our (recent) ancestors have made a right balls up, now science knows more, has educated people more and we should look to try and make little changes.

The world may or may not be worse off wihtout us, but our species wouldnt do too well, by that I mean your relatives, decendants, family. I understand the "fornicate it I wont be here anyway" as much as the next person, especially as Im agnostic bordering atheist, but isnt there some moral responsibility to do what you can for the planet you inhabit?

Quite obvious, when the word that preceeds it is achaealogical !

I wont even ask what the knowledge you have on climate change is, especially as you condone it.

We're all being mis-led? There is no global warming?

Quick ring the G8, give them the names of said fabled journals so they too can fornicate their carbon footprint off. Knew it was a bad idea, Obama and Brown reading the sun for their info on global warming.
