2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
No brackets. The computer isn't printing them correctly. I'm going to try and put the results up on my web site. Will let you know when I do.
Tremaine Williams won this afternoon, 4-0 (figure that one out!). He wasn't in my ring so I can't tell you how he looked.

Julie Goldsticker came into town today and will be doing the results - which means I can start getting some sleep.
I won't post Tuesdays - will wait until she catches up.

The computer scoring caused a choas because some never used that type but it's always good for them to learn for their future. I seen alot of upsets some known fighters got out of the tournament early but still we seen some good fights.

Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
Yea Adam Lopez and Pedro Sosa tied and both got outstanding boxer
I only went to see the finals and it was really good. Pedro Sosa won 13-2 over Tommy duquette. that sosa is a baaad boy! he won his fights 9-4, 18-7, 12-5, 15-4, 5-2, and then in finals 13-2 Sosa fought 6 times! that bad boy is gonna be world champion someday,
and I heard that Adam Lopez destroyed Oscar cantu in their first fight. He had cantu bleeding from his nose and mouth and staggered him 3 or 4 times almost knocked him out they said cantu quit at the end lopez won 22-7. then 10-1 then 10-1 again in semis, and then I watched him messed up his oppenent bad in finals 27-4 gave him 2 or 3 8counts. Baaad boy too!

anyone know why Rahman Jr lost by walkover to Charles? I know he wanted that rematch after they fought in august. Could he not make the weight the 2nd day????????
Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
Rahman was fighting in the prelims and a guy hit him 3 to 4 times after the final bell wrong knocking him out. It was obviously seconds after the bell and was clearly uncalled for.Lifestyle Flashy wrote:anyone know why Rahman Jr lost by walkover to Charles? Rahman was set on medical leave and couldnt fight the next day.
They went to the scorecards for the fight and Rahman won.
Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
He was put on a 30 day restriction due to head blows - he was sent to the hospital just to be safe.Rahman was set on medical leave and couldnt fight the next day.
It is my understanding that his opponent was disqualified. The only time a bout is stopped and the scoring is used is when both boxers are bleeding. They went to the scorecards for the fight and Rahman won.

Rock was giving dude a whoopin and in the last round, after the bell, the guy hit Rock 4-5 times when Rock didn't have his guard up because of coarse the fight was already over!
Rock really wanted this tournament too! It's messed up that he couldn't fight anymore but he kept his head up and I know that he is focused for the next one.
He won the fight 21-7. He was looking real good too.

Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
I hope Hasim Rahman's opponent gets suspended for a few months for such a flagrant foul as hitting someone 4-5 times after the bell.
Re: 2009 National Pals In San Antonio Tx
He was disqualified. I don't think a grievance was filed.
