Is Kessler being overated in the super 6 series?

I'm just wondered how easily big ole Mikkel makes 168 pounds.

A disciplined, clean liver but still he's a big mofo for Super-Middle.

And Froch was floored by Taylor and hurt by Dirrell. Kessler is much more of a complete package compared to Froch and should win clearly.

Froch was clearly hurt by Dirrell in round 10 or 11, he staggered backward into the ropes and then held on for dear life.

gemmell- when you see a fighter's back leg go through about 180 degrees after a punch, and he gets backed up to the other side of the ring without taking another shot- generally he's been hurt by a punch

Kessler's hand was shot going into the Calzaghe fight and they tried to entertain a date change but they weren't having none of it.

Once the injections wore off, Kessler was out of the Calzaghe fight. But in the beginning he was right in it.

He's not overated at all in my book. A very strong, effective all rounder.

This is an old argument. People forget that Calzaghes hands were shot for much of his career as well. He still found ways to win. Fighters simply have to deal with the various injuries they recieve.

No, under-rated maybe, but definitely not over-rated. Easily the best fighter in the tourney, will put a hurting on Froch.

I think his billing as favourite is very much justified. He's the guy with the most experience, the best C.V., and probably the best all-round skills in the tournament.

He's big, strong, composed, and quick with it. I think people sometimes only associate speed with, for want of a better word, 'flashy' fighters, such as Dirrell, to use an example from the super 6. But Kessler, whilst very much an orthodox boxer, in the jab,jab, right hand mould, is rapid with that right hand. Look at how he was catching Calzaghe, or how he knocked out Beyer. Or the fella who he fought last time out (Perdomo?), he drops that right in so quick at times, his opponent can't see it coming. I think Kessler's speed will be the difference against Froch, I think he'll be too busy for Abraham, and just a little too experienced for Ward, who, again, I think may be surprised by just how quick the Dane is.

He's fought, overall, some very decent fighters, and Calzaghe aside, he's barely lost a round. And Calzaghe had to be at his absolute best to beat him. So no, I wouldn't say he was overrated.
