How daft would alex reid be to take on calzaghe in a boxing match then... or are takedowns allowed.. either way he gets sparked I'd imagine.

In my opinion (which means little I know) Calazghe would smash Alex Reid in a round even if kicks and takedowns were allowed. Calazghe is a world class fighter, Alex Reid is a mediocre fighter - Calazghe would only have to worry about the kicks and the takedowns if Reid was something approaching world class.

Reid seems such an idiot and a bully - what kind of man stops a man speaking on the phone to his own kids? Reid will probably call out Calazghe until somebody tans his jaw. which is the way of the beast regarding these things eh?

If it ever came off - and it probably will now Joe has a taste for the media circus limelight - look for Joes 'slaps' to bamboozle and send Reid to the canvas in less than a round - thus Calazghe gaining the adoration from single mums on council estates across the nation.

By KO I assume he meant wildly slap away with his opponent on the ropes until the ref jumps in and stops it. Whos Alex Reid anyway?

"Of course I could take him on," Joe continued. "As long as he stays standing up, no kicking allowed. It would be too quick. I'd do that for Pete if he paid me."

Great mate.... "Id do it if he paid me" .... stupid nothing article though isnt it. Why would Alex Reid, a B level (at best) MMA fighter want to fight a world champion boxer and take away his biggest advantages, kicking and ground work.

Reid should respond "I'll fight Joe Calzaghe as long as theres no punching allowed, infact I'd do it for free"

Alex Reid is just a glorfied Journeyman

I seen his record

Its something like 7 wins with 6 losses and 1 KO

Something like that

He had not fought in 2 years until he met Jordan then cashed in on the publicity by fighting recently for the first time in years

He is not a serious cage fighter - he is a part time inactive journeyman

Feck, this wouldnt even be a fight, Reid is a mediocre cage fighter, he's been built up in the press but is very poor. Big dress wearing, crossdressing mofo that he is, Calzaghe within a minute no question. :bag:

Don't usually say bad things bout fighters, but he's an absolute ass hat. Mate fought him in Cage Rage.

He was awful on TUF 9 prelims (note to self, screamiong "Woo" doesn't win you fights, unless it's a Ric Flair impersonation fight) but did a lot for UK MMA by being "that bloke from Hollyoaks".

I looked up his record a while back just before he was having this fight in 2009 that was all over the papers since Jordan was attending

His last fight was recorded as being in 2007

he has got a point there though

1st strictly come dancing

then he got kicked off that - so he is out of the limelight

so now he resorts to offering out a celebrity journeyman cage fighter to make the headlines

FAir play to him for getting to the point of being a proffessional cage fighter in the first place though.
