Clinton Woods man killed...

Post by bennie »

Neil Port, who helped train Sheffield light-heavyweight star Clinton Woods, was found near to death on Saturday night.
Officers found him lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in a house in the city. He died in hospital in the early hours of Sunday.
Det Supt Kevin Hardy, who is leading the investigation, said: "This has come as a shock to a peaceful neighbourhood."
Friends say ex-brickie and bus driver Mr Port was on the waiting list for a sex change operation and had asked to be known as Penny.
Boxing promoter Dennis Hobson said: "I have known Neil for 20 years. Myself, Clinton Woods and he were inseparable. He told me about his plans about eight weeks ago and has had to live with a secret for a long time. He had a lot of good friends who loved him."
Clinton said: "Every one knew Neil as a rough, tough sort of a bloke but underneath he was a gentle giant.
"I saw him a few hours before he died. He was dressed as Penny.
"He told me had lived a lie for 20 years. It was the hardest thing he has ever done to admit he wanted to be a woman but once he had done he was a happier person for it."

He was chief trainer for Clinton's second fight with Glen Johnson. He looked a bit like Wolf out of Gladiators. He was only 40.

My God, the man must have had some bottle to finally try and come to terms with his feelings. Then for this to happen...tragic.

Let's hope whoever is guilty actually gets a proper sentence for a change.

From Sheffield Today:
Fatal stabbing probe continues

DETECTIVES investigating the stabbing death of Sheffield boxing coach Neil Port were today still inquiring into his background.

Mr Port, aged 40, was found dying from stab wounds at a house in Carter Lodge Avenue, Hackenthorpe, on Saturday night.
He died in hospital despite attempts to save him.
Police arrested two men, aged 18 and 20, but they have been released on bail while the investigation continues.
Forensic scientists examined the house in an attempt to gather more information..
Samples taken from the Hackenthorpe house have been sent for laboratory analysis.
Detectives were today still trying to piece together information about events leading up to the death of the boxing trainer.
Inquiries included tracing witnesses who had contact with him on the day of his death.
He had recently announced that he intended to undergo surgery to transform him physically into a woman. He had adopted the name Penny.
A friend said he had been dressed as Penny at the time of his death.

I honestly can't decide who is more of a misfit, the killer or "Penny". This society is in a bad way.

If you can't decide whether a killer or someone wanting to live their life how they choose without harming anyone else is more of a misfit, no wonder society is fucked up.

What!!!! :o

Sorry but you cannot in anyway compare someone who at the age of 40 take the brave decision to have a sex change with someone who is willing to stick a knife into another humans body.

It's not a "brave decision", it's sick, literally. People shouldn't encourage these people, they should either give them a bollocking and tell them to get their act together or take them to a mental hospital for treatment.

Patting them on the back and voting for them to win ridiculous TV programmes is not the way to go.

Watching and voting in Big Brother is sick, certainly, I agree with you there.

Your tolerance shines like a welcoming beacon in the darkness of our unforgiving world. I should be above sarcasm but I'm a bit tired.

Nevertheless, you should have a word with yourself if you equate transsexuals with killers.

Good shout.

It's moved too far away from boxing, and touching on subjects which could really offend some already upset people in the boxing world.

I do actually agree with all of that. It is sad news about this bloke who has been stabbed, but as far as sex changes go there are far too many these days. And that Nadia...oh god.
