Hatton - N'dou Betting

Post by Kit »

I am surprised to see Matthew Hatton is 2/1 on Bet365 to win here.
Admittedly I do not rate Hatton highly, but he is very much improved, and N'dou is an oft beaten (all beit in good company) former light welterweight who is no way world class. Added to that Hatton has recently well beat a similar aggressively styled Ben Tackie which gives him excellent preperation for this type of opponent.
Hatton also enjoys massive home advantage.
I am tempted to go big on this one.. But do I trust Matthew Hatton with my fiver?

I've not seen Lovemore of late and he is the nearly man, but nearly man against Witter, Cotto et al. Not Matthew Hatton - I think this is all about N'Dou, if he fights his age, he'll lose. If he's still fresh enough to bring the work-rate, he could well outpoint and rough up Matthew.

Nice, intriguing fight. WOuld have been a good undercard fight

Thanks
Is it just me or do you think that the bookies have been lulled into believing N'dou is actually a legitimate world champion here.
I personally would have Hatton a slight favourite with it being on home turf.

I'd agree with that summary. N'Dou is not a world-champion, ex or otherwise, but I would argue he is a world-class fighter if the definition of such is being competitive with other world-class fighters and Cotto and Witter have both been that to name two he's tangled with.

I just don't think Matthew has the lateral movement or weight of punch to frustrate or deter N'Dou, but he is the natural welter and the fresher, home fighter.

Its a very close fight, personally, I think its all about Lovemore. As I said. I think you know what both fighters can do, and neither is improving at their respective ages IMO, so its all about the deteriation in Lovemore to my mind.

Agreed no way could Hatton have produced the kind of performances against the level of opposition that Lovemore has.
But at 38 N'dou is no slickster and very much an ageing pressure fighter and imagine what kind of mileage hard fights Cotto, Witter, Cintron could have put on.
He's also with spent his career in lower weight divisions.
Hatton, has size, freshness and home advantage and looks to perform better against aggressive fighters.
Would you be offering odds as high as 13/5 on a Hatton victory?

Unless the cut that hampered his training re-opens I think N'dou will hage enough to beat hatton who has been floating around british title level for a while now.

N'dou outpointed his namesake Phillip over the duistance last time out, dont personally think he's lost any of that engine. Cant see Matt detering him enough to keep him at bay, so barring dodgy scoring, the cut becoming a problem or N'dou going old overnight he'll have enough to beat Matt.

Going on my recent predictions Matt will gleefully outbox him without hardly taking a shot now.

To answer your last question, no.

I wouldn't been placing much beyond small beer on this bout. So if you want to be a gentleman's pint on it, I'll take Lovemore to win.

From the responses, my get rich quick scheme may take a little longer.
I still think Hatton is a marginal favourite and the bookies have this too wide in N'dou's favour.
On that premise I will still nervously remove a precious five pound note from my pocket and take those odds.

N'dou has been picked at the right moment I think.

Well, Matthew was down to fight Judah until Judah pulled out. He would have got a real hiding in that one. I think he is just throwing the dice and trying to see if he can get a big win.

I remember the way Craig Watson beat him with ease and to be honest you have to fancy N'dou to be a bit better than Watson.

I fancy Hatton to win N'Dou isn't a great champion but is tough I see Hatton winning a very close decision. N'Dou only loses to top fighters but I see Hatton winning this

I don't.
I hope not anyway. Not a Hatton fan whatsoever.

Go for it! But take the 3/1 available instead! To inflate the return for your fiver even more, take him pts @ 100/30. Won't be stopping Lovemore.

Their kid played a blinder getting this on home soil, was down for South Africa originally.
