Frankie vs Degale: who shone brightest ?

Post by whiskey »

Personally I thought Frankie looked more compact and 'professional' in there tonight.

Degale looked impressive too and his opponent was a little more game than Saville, but overall i'd side with Frankie as being the pick last night on their fledgling performances.

i would say they were both equally impressive. saville was way too small.gavin should be fighting GOOD DOMESTIC FIGHTERS.he has the beating of almost any lww in britain over 6 rounds.what is gavin going to learn from that fight last night? nothing.frankie is a class act.degale looked very good the improvement the kid has made since his debut is trmendous!! he is really throwing professional punch's now.just me or did he look alot more ripped then his last fight? think that was degale's first fight at smw. really impressed with both frankie and james.they should step up in class now and fight good domestic level fighters imo

Both looked good and have adapted very fast to the pro ranks. I thought Gavin looked better of the 2 yesterday but both looked very good. DeGale was very accurate but got hit to much imo, Gavin landed hard punches without taking much I see him going all the way in the pro ranks he looks a class act :TU:

Very impressed with both, couldn't say who looked better.

While Frankie's opponent looked like a sports network special - as in two weights smaller, he was apparently a tough boy by all accounts, and Frankie handled him with style.
You could see the other guy thinking "What the f*^$??" afterwards - he looked a future champ for sure.

And so did De Gale, a real talent, you could see the way he's picked up a few tips from the Mayweather style too, showed real poise.
Not sure how far Jim McD can take him, but he'll get him fit that's for sure. Another future champ we hope.

DeGale seems to have come on leaps and bounds with Jimmy, he's matured very quickly, I think McDonnell might surprise a few people here.

Not been impressed with Frankie as a pro, untill now. Looked strong and quick.

Degale, Bellew and Cox all impressed.

Cox vs Brook a few years down the line is really mouth watering.

I thought Frankie Gavin was outstanding.

The problem for him is that he looks that good he will have to have his opponents upped in class - a normal professional of the number of fights Gavin has had could get away with things a bit longer - Gavin wont be able to - he was outstanding in my view.

It is a problem given the way the promoter tends to work his prospects, its a good problem really. Love to see someone as British champion in such a few number of fights.

Both Gavin and Degale are quality operators.

Gavin started slow to his career, but last night and the fight before, he looked outstanding.

Degale has turned it up since his first fight, and looks like he'll go far.

swifty impressed me the most last night, going on last nights performance its hard to split gavin and degale both looked diffrent class be intresting to see how they develop when they start moving up the ranks. id like to see degale fight Nathan King or Patrick J Maxwell and id like to see gavin fight Peter McDonagh or if they want to move him faster Nigel Wright

Both looked very impressive. Frankie barely put a foot wrong and stood out for me. I think Saville only landed one clean punch in the fight. Frankie's body punches looked absolutely vicious last night.

Think Degale is starting to look better and better, most impressive showing so far.
Also starting to get more cheers!

But have to say Gavin is class. When he turned over i wasnt so sure, but Arnie has done a great job on him and i'm a fan now.
Thought he looked the bollox friday. Puts pressure on without rushing his work, made saville feel constantly under pressure even when not throwing but yet was still defensive minded enough to react when saville wanted to throw.
Saville is a tough tough fighter who on paper was gonna give Gavin a fight.
Class display and a great great result.
Best out of the two of them for me.
