It did look small.
A terrible fight for about 9 rounds. Surprised allegedly was so quick stating there would be a rematch. Money talks I suppose.

it was terrible but the crowd seemed to love it.
Re: Size of the ring for Smith-Quigley
its the biggest money fight in the supermiddle fight, was a better atmosphere than the quigley dodson fight even thogh that was a better fight

Re: Size of the ring for Smith-Quigley
i think ritchie davies would make any ring look small :!: he handled the contest well, but relies on screaming as he is slow moving in.

On telly, it looked an okay fight - the atmosphere and obvious needle more than made up for the fact that both lads had a tension induced 'mare.
My one observation regarding the referee was that he should have started deducting points in the middle rounds, thereby forcing the two to fight rather than hold and wrestle.
Incidentally, what did you all think of the decision? I had Smigga 115-113 but the three mates I watched with all liked Quigley or the draw.

I dont think either deserved points off it was scrappy but not bad enough for points to be taken off imo. I thought Davis handled it well using old school refing at its best telling them to start fighting.Tykemania wrote:On telly, it looked an okay fight - the atmosphere and obvious needle more than made up for the fact that both lads had a tension induced 'mare.
