As for the result, i'd love to see Haye win but i think he'll be slowly beaten up and stopped by around the 10th rd.

People should stop talking about Valuev vs Holyfield as a reason why Haye can win this fight. The rumours are that Valuev carried Holyfield in that fight as he was scared of hurting him and when you look at the comments he made when the fight was first mentioned about how he respected Holyfield but that it would not be a fair and honourable fight for him to take, it does seem to ring true.

David Haye is one of my favourite fighters, just like Tommy Hearns was my favourite fighter growing up.

I never know whether he's going to win spectacularly or get horribly splattered (or somewhere between the two).

I will say this though: watch the Valuev vs Chagaev fight, & the Taras Bidenko fight, & the Gerald Nobles fight, & the two Ruiz fights, & the Larry Donald fight, & that fight with the big lanky Canadian southpaw who then went on to get splattered in two rounds by Dominick Guinn, & ask yourself:

Has Valuev been carrying everyone he's ever faced that hasn't immediately collapsed at the sight of him? Does he respect & love life so much that he treats every single fighter who doesn't just stand there to get paneled as if they were Mother Theresa, & wishes to save them from a humiliating humbling beneath his mighty fists?

Or is he in fact utter shite?

Whilst I'm sure he's a lovely humanitarian with a rich & splendid inner life, I'm not sure that Nikolai is in fact capable of fighting any less passively than he does. If Haye were any heavyweight other than himself (if you get my drift), I'd back him in a second.

But he's David Haye. He's going to come a cropper, spectacularly, at some point. He's also got bollocks the size of Bethnal Green, which puts him in harm's way more than probably any other British boxer currently fighting (with the possible exception of Carl Froch). So I can't with any certainty predict what's going to happen with him.

Which is why I'll pay to watch the boy fight, every single time.

Just thought i'd do this thread as i was at a Halloween party and non boxing fans were all going on about Haye vs Valuev and that they wanted to watch it, then on the train before i heard quite a few people talking about it as they were reading sunday papers and again they were saying they wanted to watch it, this has happened quite a bit now for the last few weeks.

The fight is a natural since it was made, the whole 'David vs Goliath' scenario has worked a treat and people who have never seen Valuev are all like WTF when they see his pics and how tall he is. This has got to be the biggest fight involving a British boxer since Hatton vs Mayweather in terms of capturing the British public's interest.

Due to this being a Sky PPV, the fight has had strong media backing from all media outlets which is always a good way to see how a fight is going to do.

I think every bar, casino and pool/snooker club that has sky sports will pretty much all pick this up as well and i can see a significant amount of casual fans also making this their 'one boxing fight a year' and buying the PPV so i wouldn't be surprised if it does 500,000 PPV's which would be amazing for Haye.

Unfortunately i can only see Haye being stopped late and i may even have a sneaky bet on a 1st rd KO for Valuev although i'd love to see Haye win as British Boxing needs a guy like him to be the face of boxing in this country.

NO! Its tongue in cheek, funny, and adds a bit of interest to the fight which Im all for. Haye is respecful to Valuev as a fighter, just throws in a few twists and turns. Didnt Ali do a similar thing back in the day? (and before any smart alecs jump down my neck no Im not comparing the two in any other way!). Hes only saying things that people are thinking - he is a big ugly mother with a hairy sweaty frame. Im sure Valuev wont be ringing Samaritans about it or telling the teacher just yet.

i think haye will use his speed to win most of the majority of the rounds vs valuev , but he will get robbed on points.

haye doesnt have the power to win by knockout , valuev will be too slow to catch haye with anymore than 1 punch at a time , what i think is that on most peoples scorecards haye will win by scores 7-4-1 , 7-5 or even 8-4 but will get robbed , i see a split decison win for valuev.

in germany you need to win at least 9 rounds to have a chance to win on points

I'm a supporter of Haye and would really like him to win and become the face of British Boxing as i don't think there is anyone better who could represent it at the moment plus he's everything that you'd want in a boxer in terms of excitement and bringing the casual fan's in to watch.

Having said that, i'm just not sure how he's going to overcome the height, reach and weight differences and the fact that Valuev has a world class jab that is going to make it very hard to get inside and unleash his 'hayemakers'. If Haye can't take that jab too well then this could well be all over inside the first 2 rounds!

Haye by stoppage - has the power to hurt Valuev in my opinion (or more accurately, the speed, as I think Valuev will be hurt by shots he doesn't see coming).
By contrast, I think Valuev will be too slow and ponderous to hurt Haye.
