As with any weight divison there is really only an upper limit, so long as you don't go over that the ABC will sanction it...

That would have been pointless. There were virtually no deserving contenders to challenge him that weighed 250+. It's debatable whether Primo was genuinely worthy of a title fight himself, due to the mafia connection issue[/quote]

The call came after Ernie Schaaf died after a fight with Carnera. Writers who tell stories about Carnera's fights being fixed to get him to the World Title never explain how Louis was the only man to beat him in the nine fights after he lost the title to Baer. For the rest of his long life after losing the title to Carnera, Jack Sharkey swore blind that Carnera beat him fairly.

Why would he lie?
