I PERSONALLY JUST MISS THE OLD WAY OF SCORING.

I hope you aren't referring to the manual scoring that was done prior to the computer scoring. The cheating was high and couldn't be caught - remember what happened to Roy Jones in 1988. The scoring criteria for computer scoring is the same as it was for manual scoring - nothing has changed there. With computer scoring you can actually see if anyone is cheating.
TOO MUCH POLITICS IN BOXING.
Such as? I agree that the ego battles at the top level aren't doing the sport any good but those power struggles are not affecting the scoring.
THE WORLD KNEW WHO WON THAT FIGHT(the roy jones fight). THE SAD PART IS, WE ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN!!!! I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A KID AND MY BIG BROTHERS WOULD BEAT ME UP, I WOULD COVER MY HEAD WITH MY ARMS. I WOULDN'T GET HIT FLUSH BUT IT STILL HURT. I WOULD GET UP (MAD OF COURSE) AND CHASE THEM. SO IF THAT WAS BOXING, THAT MEANS "I WON". NO, I GOT MY ASS KICKED. I BOXED A LITTLE IN MY TIME. PUNCHES HURT EVEN WHEN MY HANDS WERE UP, THAT SHOULD COUNT FOR SOMETHING. JESSE, WON THAT FIGHT!!!!!! HE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN!!! HOPEFULLY HE WILL GET CREDIT FOR EVERY PUNCH THAT LANDS. :box: I LIKE ARIAS BUT I'VE SEEN HIM OUTBOXED NUMBERS OF TIMES AND GET THE DECISION. AS OF RIGHT NOW, JESSE HAS TO WORK ON A FEW THINGS. REMEMBER I SAID THIS. HE HAS THE TOOLS, TO COMPETE GREAT AGAINST THE ELITE. HE LOSED TO TERRELL GAUSHA ON HOLDING CALLS, THE ONLY WAY ARIAS HAS A CHANCE IS IF HE KNOCKS JESSE OUT. UNTIL, IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS SOMEONE STEPS UP, JUST AS GOOD. " HE WILL DOMINATE!!!! YOU HEARD IT FROM ME 1ST. GUYS, I LOVE YALL. :OhYes:

Hey Philly - Quote - "FOR SOME ODD REASON, THEY LOOK OUT FOR LUIS ARIAS" - Who looked out for him and favored him when he won the medals at the internationals and World Championships? The Russians, Italians, Chinese, Mexicans, or the British?
Quote - "FIGHTERS NEED TO RUMBLE" - I think you have boxing confused with Vince McMahon's WWE. Quote - "ANYWAY I WASN'T THERE BUT I HEAR" - EXACTLY Philly -great point - YOU WEREN'T THERE!! Quote - "OH WELL, YOUR A FAN TOO" - Just cuz I feel Arias won, I'm a fan of his? Great logic man!! The more you talk, the more it's obvious that you know very little about boxing. Believe me, you are no match for Mel. Let it go brother!

Good point from boxfanner. This guy is a real work of art!
Dude, you say you "like" Arias. I don't think so! If I saw a guy fight several times and I believed he got the decision each time because "they (the officials) look out for Arias" and his opponents were cheated, then I would not like that guy cuz he only wins because of favoritism. You are really transparent dude. You need to take fanner's advice and go to the library and check out a few books on boxing basics. You just said "the only way Arias can beat Jesse is to knock him out". How about beating him on points like he did a week ago? Jesse will dominate? "Heard it from you 1st"? Yeah, a bunch of hot air!! Goodnight. :bag:

CORRECTION ON MY PART, I THINK ARIAS WILL BE AN EXCITING PRO. HE HAS EXPLOSIVE POWER, HE DOESN'T WASTE ENERGY. HE'S A ONE PUNCHER THAT DEPENDS ON HIS POWER AND DEFENSE, NO BOXING SKILLS. I ADMIT I TALK A LITTLE SMACK, BUT HERES ONE FOR YOU AND FANNER ("go to the library and check out a few books on boxing basics.") WORDS FROM THE ALL KNOWING FANNER. YOU CAN'T LEARN OR TEACH BOXING BASICS OUT OF BOOKS. JESSE IS LOOKING PAST ARIAS. OH, WATCH OUT FOR DAMON ALLEN TOO, HE JUST TURN OPEN. PHILLY COMING BACK. IMA REST, BUT I RESPECT YOU GUYS AND WE WILL BE @ IT AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. I CAN TELL. BUT TRANSPARENT THOUGH. GOOD ONE! :TU:

Hey, maybe in 2010 the people can see Travis, Jesse, Arias and Gausha all beat on each other. They all capable of making the Olympic team. I know this will be a memorable rivalry.

There are a lot more boxers in the 165 class capable of making the Olympic Team. You forgot Russell Lamour and Kurtiss Colvin who will be in the mix. There are also some young guns on the way up to watch out for.

U are correct. I thought about that but didn't mention it. In Olympic Trials history a wildcard always stands out. But as always, 165 will be poppin.
