Mike Tyson's British tour; is it sold out?

Post by DavidPayne »

Obviously, for all the discomfort Dermot Murnaghan tried to cause Mike Tyson yesterday and the blood pressureissues it caused the men who have brought him here for another speaking tour you have to wonder whether this morning over bacon and eggs whether all parties may just appreciate the spotlight the slightly confrontational questionning has created and pointed at the tour.

I don't know how ticket sales were before yesterday for the four date tour but I suspect the phone may have rung a little more today. I've watched the interview and once again I was struck by Tyson's self-awareness and articulation. He was tackled on some old topics, which irked him the most, he's arguably a more accomplished interviewee than Dermot Murnaghan is an interviewer and almost incredulously he was asked "as a Muslim" for his views on Afghanistan and Iraq.

Scandalous. However, despite the exaggeration of Mike Tyson "losing it on live TV" it has afforded the interview disproportionate coverage and accomplished two things.

1 - It will have provide a major shot in the arm to the tour and
2 - It reminded me, as Tyson showed his irritation, that there is No electricity like Tyson electricity

can you imagine the complete w*nkers that would be sidling up to him, plastic tough guys, druggie scumbags and general thugs, for the trophy foto for the mantle piece. I don't blame him.
