Froch - Dirrell II anyone.

Post by Andy »

The WBC have announced, at their conference, that Andre Dirrell can be granted a re-match with Carl Froch.
If any such return cannot be held without impacting the current Super Six series then Dirrell will be named as mandatory title challenger once the tournament is completed.

at who's request?....not Froch's that's for sure. Dirrell's??...wouldn't he just be happy to see out the next 2 (maybe more) fights and do as well as he can...starting with a good performance against Abraham?

Pretty stupid talking about this fight right in the middle , not even near the middle yet, of this tournament. This is why I don't pay any attention to trying to understand the workings of these things, it would just p*ss me off if I did.

I could understand this in normal circumstances, but what's the point right now? They've both got at least 2 big fights lined up because of the super 6. They might even meet down the line in the tournament itself.

Just let the tournament play out, we'll all know where everyone stands after it finishes. Seems like an attempt from the WBC to try and reclaim some publicity for themselves, after every boxing fan has seen that the super 6 shits all over their bullshit rankings and mandatory's.

If Froch wins the Super Six tournament, then Pascal isn't a particularly interesting opponent.

When and why did he say that?

The winner of Pascal vs Diaconu (Pascal) will be defending the winner of the WBC inter continental title, Chad Dawon vs Glen Johnson (Dawson).

Therefore Froch could fight the winner of Pascal vs Dawson, especially being a former WBC champion, he'd go right in at the top ranking level.

Froch was gunna smash Taylor early, than he was gunna crush Dirrell with ease, now he is going to annihilate Kessler and Abraham before destroying the both Klitschko brothers at the same time! Our Carl is too tenacious, aggressive, and powerful. Even though he has been hurt by average punchers in his last two fights his chin is made of iron. He defensive prowess makes Muhammad Ali look like Edwin Valero. He is so much better than his opponents that he takes it easy on them by punching the air for most of the fight because he doesn't want to hurt them to bad.

Froch KO 1 everyone

It's a sensible move by Dirrellsteam, either they get a winnable return with Froch or if Froch has bigger fish to fry he will get a shot at the vacant title.
Not bad to fall back on if the Super 6 doesn't go well for him.

Froch won't want it. The boxing world doesn't want it. The only person who might want it is Dirrell, and would he really?

Does Dirrell still get this shot afrer Froch loses his belt? My money is on Froch to be out of the tournament after losing his next two fights. Does this essentially mean that Dirrell gets a shot at the tournament winners WBC belt irrespective of who that may be?

He certainly didn't fight as though he wanted it the first time.

Froch may have his limitations but he has found a way to win against some of the best fighters in his division. In squeaking past Dirrell, I have a feeling that his biggest challenge in the Super 6 is now behind him (although I suppose they could meet again). I will bet on Carl Froch to win the Super 6. He is not the prettiest to watch - but he'll find a way to grind out a win each time.

Amen to that.

Fact is, Dirrell blew his chance.

If Froch finishes the super six with his title, then i'm sure he will vacate and rematch Pascal.

Obviously Pascal will need to have kept his end of the bargain, which involves a hard fight potentially with the winner of Dawson vs Johnson.

It's long shot for both men, but ultimately i'd rather see that, than a Dirrell rematch.

WTF for, froch v dirrell 2, who would want it?

would showtime want it?

would dirrell want it - he didn't fancy it at any point during the fight that he ruined on the super 6 debut night.

would froch want it - obviously not.

this idea is an absolute abortion. fck of WBC!
