Haye v valuev not on tv?
This is not good. How can main event pass this up? Even new Zealands sky sports is showing it
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Gota save space for mundines next big main event vs Robbie Peden at a catchweight. Hang on, robbie is small but he can still hit so that will probably be a bit tough for choc.

You telling me you can't generate the PPV on the offchance that a pom might get beaten up?
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?

I think its more to do with Valeuv being useless, I will be suprised if Haye dosn't KO him within 5 rounds. Valuev is wide open,Has no speed and if Haye uses his speed and aggression he should KO him.

Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
No OZ content & way too early in the day for pubs & clubs, which Main Event needs to make it viable.adamheight wrote:This is not good. How can main event pass this up? Even new Zealands sky sports is showing it
NZ is 2 hours ahead of OZ East Summer time.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
2 hours ahead? i thought it was more like 20 years behind.......
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
No need to be nasty, just 'cos they score incomplete roundstoppity wrote:2 hours ahead? i thought it was more like 20 years behind.......

Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
doesnt matter what time of day...a heavyweight title fight is a heavyweight title fight. any stateside fights r shown at 4am in england but that doesnt stop british fans demanding it.
australian televsion not televising the world heavyweight championship is a disgrace and it shows how unimportant boxing is down here

Foxtel, Austar & Optus are struggling for subscribers... too expensive for average income earner.adamheight wrote:doesnt matter what time of day...a heavyweight title fight is a heavyweight title fight. any stateside fights r shown at 4am in england but that doesnt stop british fans demanding it.

Not a great deal of fight fans have it. Cheaper to rock to the nearest pub/club & blow a few bucks on the bar.
I ain't stuck for a buck, but ain't prepared to blow 100 bucks per month to watch a few local Fox shows (some not worth watching) & then blow another 50 to get Main Event shows.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Yep you go to the Setanta website and see pictures of the HAYEMAKER everywhere and yet no broadcast of the fight....Unbeeleevable!!!
I know DAWSON V JOHNSON is a good fight .... but this is a HW title fight!! and the start of the HAYEMAKERS run at greatness!!
I cant believe we cant see this!!

Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
For all we know, main broadcaster (Germany ARD) & promoter might be asking too much to make it viable for Main Event's home viewers
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Bloody oath mate. Under 30% of households have pay tv, and that is in a relatively small market to start with, and out of them I guarantee only a very small percentage would be willing to pay from a fight like this, especially at the time. No way it is a viable option for Main Event.AntonS wrote:Foxtel, Austar & Optus are struggling for subscribers... too expensive for average income earner.adamheight wrote:doesnt matter what time of day...a heavyweight title fight is a heavyweight title fight. any stateside fights r shown at 4am in england but that doesnt stop british fans demanding it.

Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
well channel 10 should show it then, or tens dedicated sports channel ONE HD.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
agree. they showed the Klit fight early morning. Love to know how much it would cost them.adamheight wrote:well channel 10 should show it then, or tens dedicated sports channel ONE HD.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Licensing fee probably wouldn't go for under 10K

I agree mate, It should be shown somewhere.adamheight wrote:well channel 10 should show it then, or tens dedicated sports channel ONE HD.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
based on that i would have thought that they would be able to sell enough advertising to recoup overheads. It would be something different for them as well.Marlin wrote:Licensing fee probably wouldn't go for under 10K
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Main Event have the Dawson/Johnson card on.
Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
Merely being a pkm fighting you would think it would generate enough interest to have it on "somehwere" in Australia.
Although that pom may get knocked out in 5 or 6 rounds......thats even more reason to have it on !!
I wouldnt replace the Dawson v Johnson fight with this though. Setanta have gone off the boil since there opening Kessler v Calzaghe fight and I would be surprised if 10 HD get any more major world title fights due to the cost...they need to be able recoup their money somehow.

Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
$120 in 8 days if you get the DAWSON/JOHNSON, NDOU/HATTON & COTTO/PAC fights on. Unfortunately I live where there is no pub for 300k's that is likely to have the fights so will get it. You would think they could give a 3 for the price of 2 special or something !!!Marlin wrote:Bloody oath mate. Re: Haye v valuev not on tv?
This could be interesting if valuev fights like he did againts barret. people say valuev is boring, he wasn't in that fight.
