Sexton vs Rogan 2 - The result - now it is laid to rest

Post by terrez »

Ok, I'm a big fan of Sexton.. I have been always.

The final result was Rogan did not get off his stool for the 7th round - Sexton wins by Rogan retiring at end of 6th, IMO that is better then a flash knockout!!

Sexton was up on points anyway, I had it 4-2 Sexton.

Can we all agree to put this dispute to bed and give Sexton some credit for his sportsmanship to go back over to NI and do such a sharp number on Rogan.

Sexton - Sharp, accurate and prepared for the Rogan onslaught.

So proud of you Sam! So proud. To deal with the pressure in the lions den and take such a decisive victory over a man that went to the end with Audley and stopped Skelton. You performed better then both of them agaist Rogan.

All the political BS that was shouted by Rogan, I know he appologised about it, good on him for that, good man - but tonight you shone and took some huge bombs from Rogan to PROVE you are the champ.

Sexton for British, Euro then the world!

Sexton still isn't anything special, Rogan was still robbed in the first, and was in no shape for tonight. Take nothing away from Sexton though he did what he had to do and took his opportunity.
Can't see him beating, McDermott, Fury, Harrison and Chisora

Every prediction and poll I have answered about Sexton on here has been right and spot on so far.. In my eyes he has silenced allot of critics in his last 2 wars with Rogan, let's face it, as far as boxing skill - he is a class above Rogie, the man who out boxed Audley and stopped Skelton. What more does Sexton have to do to earn a lick of respect. He will take Williams for the british, lets face it - you would have to be blind to bet against Sexton when he fights Williams for the Londsdale..

Who is at the EU level? Swonski? He can out box him IMO, again would you stack your money against him in that fight if it happens?

Like it or not, Sexton is sharp and can play out a good gameplan. He has proved this against Rogan and when he won the Prizefighter. Adaptability and gameplan, he has that hands down.

He won prizefighter due to a draw? He clearly out pointed Reid and Simpkin, then stopped Burton? How are any of those outomes a draw??

PM me what you have 'heard' about Sexton and i will tell you if it is the truth, me and Sam have been close friends since year 6 middle school and we speak regularly... But 30 mins ago I asked I spoke to him and he was by rights in a great mood and healthy condition thank god!!

I can.

Percentage chance, in my opinion, against McD 60%, Fury 75%, Harrison 20-80% Chisora? Not seen much of him to comment.

Of course I will be bias, as a friend of Sams, I will always be the first to point out when he does well, but in return, he has come to me in the past, sometimes straight after bouts on the way home and we have talked about the not so positive and I have offered him genuine oppinion.

I am completly open to peoples opinion when it comes to his boxing and professional life in the ring, I happily talk about the positives, egatives and listen to others judgement without being defensive as I am aware I will be bias regardless, but I will not let comments along the lines of 'I have heard Sexton is a nasty piece of work, but can not say why on here' go unchallenged as I know him well and am happy to discuss any potential misconceptions about his personallity - as that is something I do know allot about.

I believe if you read my comments about Sam and his opponents you will see that they are generally level headed and kosher.. And that as bias as i will be my predictions have been spot on.....

Good thing about this result is that I get to see in the future Sam Sexton prostrate on the canvas with some
fat guy with a bow tie going 'nine, ten and you are out'

And lets be honest - we won't be waiting that long.

There is something about him - I think it is line in Muhammad Ali/Carl Froch style talk but he sounds like something
out of the wurzels! Its massively irritating.

'oooh aaar O'im da groitest' put a sock - sorry - a turnip in it you yokel.

He is a KO waiting to happen - hopefully - as commonwealth champion - a promoter in New Zealand can give Sexton his
best payday to go out there and fight David Tua in Auckland - I would fly there to watch that happen. :TU:

Sexton was 7-0 up or something in the first. You can't see Sexton beating Fury? Then you take nothing away from him, but then...... you do just that.

I've always wondered why you're called Coco, now i know. :TU:

I don't understand how you know why I call myself Coco now???

Sexton was ahead in the first, not 7-0, but faded very badly(as he did against Chisora) and was saved by some poor refereeing.

I don't see Sexton beating Fury as the more limited Rogan is far easier to outbox. Fury has shown he can last the distance and has the power to hurt the the Norwich man. Both chin and stamina are still huge question marks against him.

And I take nothing away from who?? and you do just that?? Sorry maybe it's too early in the morning but I just don't know what you mean by that?

Exactly, give the man some respect. He has heart, balls, excellent fitness and some slick boxing skills. I hope he goes on to bigger and better things - he fully deserves it.

Rogan is a limited fighter. Sexton boxed well at range but when they were up close he was getting it im not convinced by his chin either every punch Rogan landed he seemed to get hurt but it was a good performance by him :TU:
