Just back from the fight. The official word was that Rogan suffered a left arm injury but he had his heart broken. Me and Brendan at ringside both watched him totter about, completely exhausted in the final apart of the sixth round, Rogie was bolloxed.

Fair play to Sexton, he got drawn in a little bit too much early on, but when he used his jab and left-right combinations he looked a class apart. Impressive technical skills and despite all the pre-fight talk, it was same old Rogie in there.

Yeah, full credit to Sexton, he deserves immense credit and as well as having real boxing talent he showed real character in prevailing twice in front of an intimidating crowd. Rogan gave it everything in the 5th and was running on empty in the 6th - by the end of the 6th he was out on his feet - his eyes were rolling in the back of his head. Sexton told the press afterward that it was his right that did the damage in the 6th.

*Great to watch the fights with you Steve, it was a very good night's boxing and I hope to see you at Alan Wilton's show on the 20th. :TU:

*Jamie Conlan was excellent - he looks like a very well schooled boxer, O'Hara impressed too - very sharp and great work rate, but the pick of the undercard victories was Neil Sinclair who broke down his opponent in clinical fashion.

Maybe too many brews from well wishers since Prizefighter.

ahhh, here, in the bushes....lurks the lesser spotted Boxrec Jive-ass.......

Rogan was always going to "go" "overnight"....as you (quite rightly) put it.

Rogan has excelled and over achieved (big time)...and hopefully his wages have reflected this. He was a gaelic games playing taxi driver and did not even discover the sport of boxing until his 4th decade.....

Having tasted what the Irishman had to offer, Sexton obviously left nothing to chance. A great win for Sexton over a good, big hearted opponent.

Yes I went for Rogie, but at 11 or 12 years his junior, you can't be surprised at this. Even less so slate Rogan you fckwit!!
If it sounded like I was disrespecting Rogan I really did not mean it that way - I like & respect Rogan and his style immensely - I was just amazed at how quickly he unravelled and the manner in which he lost last night. The way he took it to Audley and Skelton was very ballsy and it seemed like he should be able to work over a fellow like Sexton.

I must admit i was pretty surprised at how Rogan just turned it in.

That said, i saw him blowing in clinches almost immeadiately.

A lot of the Irish fans i watched it with blamed Rogan's departure from his trainer and thinking he is technically better than he actually is. Not that i'm qualified to agree or disagree as I aint got a clue whats gone on behind the scenes.

I always thought his heart, chin and will-power were his assets, but last night's retirement goes against what usually is served up by Rogan.

Will he come again? i'm not so sure.

If anyone wants a replay, drop me a PM.
