Tua could definitely KO Haye if he landed bang on the button with his left hook.

Haye might just be able to KO Tua at this stage as well. And he has two hard hitting hands. Consider that for a moment. :TU:

We know he is the champion. Now he has to defend his title. Tua has a great chin and great power. He would be able to take Haye's punches and if he connects its over. Haye would need to put on a skillful display of boxing skills and get on his bike like he did tonight. His hand speed would allow him to land routinely and put rounds in the bag but it all comes down to if he gets caught or not.

He will fight Ruiz because uhm HE HAS TO!!!!

It is a mandatory fight, Ruiz stepped aside for this fight to happen.

What a dumb thread.

In your opinion.

Please tell me, what the hell has Tua done to deserve a title shot?
WHen was the last time he beat a top 10 contender?

You will be searching a long time for that.

I don't think he has earned a shot, just like many challengers are unworthy in my opinion. But Tua's attributes and Haye's weaknesses would make Tua a live opponent even at this stage if the fight were to happen, no matter if Tua deserved it or not.

Davids vulnerability would make any fight against a fighter who has slightly decent punching power an interesting proposition!

I didn't say Haye would beat him. My problem is Tua doesn't deserve a title shot.

Get in line Tuaman. He is nothing more than a top 30 fighter looking for an easy title shot at this stage. There are dozens of them.

Earn it.

Why? Haye isn't suddenly beyond everyone now that he has an alphabet strap. If Tua beats Meehan in a fight that has rumored to potentially take place he will have a high ranking within the WBA, and could be up for a title shot. Do you think he presents less of a challenge than Haye's first challenger?

The way I remember it Lennox Lewis beat Tua 12 rounds out of 12 without taking 1 solid hit. And that was 10 years ago.

I think Haye might have a slim chance here..

It's amazing how Tua has been dragged up from out of the blue to become the next HW champion (again)! :o

Saying that, I do believe he'd destroy David Haye though.

tua was a massive letdown vs lewis and byrd. the 2 fights he'll be remmebered for.

he lost his great fight to ibeabuchi. he almost lost to izon and maskaev and rahman because he can't get started fast enough.

ruiz, perhaps because he went with king, got opportunities, won title fights. which unfortunately is far more than tua has done. despite the fact that tua smashed him up in a few seconds. admittedly ruiz had his share of humiliations, outboxed by natural super middles/light heavies jones and toney. but the fact is he made more of his career than tua, was a more succesful fighter, made more of the (limited) ability that he has.

ruiz is an alright first defense. he's around haye's size, and this should allow haye to showcase his sharp, sudden and fast punching. he'll have to work hard to not get mauled, but he will do the business.

i wouldn't. i'd pick haye AND adamek to decisively beat tua. tua is so slow and won't be able to handle either man's punch-and-step-to-the-side-quickly style.

haye has shown he can do 12 rds at heavyweight and would beat the fat fringe contender that is david tua. he can't TAKE the shots, but he can box a solid fight to AVOID enough of them.

so haye has had 2 dull fights in his career - v abdoul (remember maloney's face at ringside, LOL) and v valuev. interestingly, valuev is always in the dull fights. haye has been in some thrillers (thompson, mormeck, fragomeni), has scored some scintillating early KOs (macca, gurov), so i think we can give him a pass.

to be honest, i'm glad both khan and haye have found a style that can cover up their sole limitation - durability. british boxing needs its stars and thankfully we have 3 world champs at the moment.

don't forget, khan beat kotelnik, and i rated kotelnik, and while i'm not bothered about khan, i can appreciate that he is a successful sportsman (if hardly the blockbuster star some think he is). it is easier to root for haye v a 7 foot goliath, than it is to root for khan who bullied many super feathers. this is an unfair comparison by myself, but my main image of khan is fighting super feathers. i'm sure this image will fade, when he beats more top lightwelters, mind.
