can't wait for that fight... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
That damn Ruiz just won't go away.
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
What a joke of a fight they made. 3-3 in his last 6 and his win tonight against a 19-10-1 tomato can was his first fight in 15 months. I guess wins against McCline and Tisdale in 08 and 07 make you a number 1 contender these days. At least make the guy fight a proper eliminator, jesus.
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
Ruiz looked sluggish in his earlier fight and Haye will prove to much for him

Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
David Haye will ko ruiz early on
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
Looking through his record, his last meanigful win was probably a shot Golota way back in 04. Even at that Golota floored him twice.
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
haye will destroy ruiz in 3 rounds.haye will be back to his exciting style in his 1st defense
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
I don't think this'll be half as boring as people think. Haye is likely to be far more offensive minded than tonight, no matter how much Ruiz wants to hug I can see Haye landing some good shots. Might be a bigger test of his stamina than Valuev as Ruiz will be able to fight ata higher pace and be more active/physical on the inside.

Good match up for Haye, Ruiz cant handle speed or power and is aging and has no physical advantages, Haye should look impressive

Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz

Haye VS John Ruiz
I'll hold my hands up to not having seen much of Ruiz, I know he has been around for AGES and been involved in some boring fights, but from what I saw last night he looked ok... I'm fairly certain Haye would beat him, but I'm also fairly certain that it would be a watchable fight from our perspective.
Thoughts?
My immediate caveat is that Haye will likely look for a Kiltschko fight, but if they make him wait he may end up with Ruiz, the October 21st ratings had him #1, which obv he remains, these are the ratings
So we are left with Ruiz, Boytsov, Austin, Solis, in the top ten, plus the boys underneath them.

1. JOHN RUIZ (OC) USA
2. KALI MEEHAN AUS - hasnt fought since August 08
3. RUSLAN CHAGAEV UZB - can he fight for a title coming off a loss?
4. Was... DAVID HAYE U.K.
5. DENNIS BOYTSOV (WBA I/C) RUS
6. KEVIN JOHNSON USA -- Fighting Vitali in December which will harm his WBA standing surely?
7. ALEXANDER USTINOV (EBA) RUS apparently defending the '~ EBA (European Boxing Association) heavyweight title ~' in December
8. RAY AUSTIN USA
9. DAVARYLL WILLIAMSON USA - coming off a loss to the above-ranked Ray Austin
10. ODLANIER SOLIS (LAC) CUB
11. DENNIS BAKHTOV (PABA) RUS
12. GBENGA OLOUKUN NIG - lost his last two, including one on the haye undercard
13. DAVID RODRIGUEZ (NABA) USA
14. SEBASTIAN KOEBER GER
15. BRIAN MINTO USA
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
I can see Haye making a mandatory against Ruiz then having to give up the WBA Title to make it easier to get a fight with one of the Klitschkos.
After all, the WBA stripped Lennox Lewis when he beat Holyfield the second time. They lost all their credibility in doing so. Haye should throw it back at them.

Re: Haye VS John Ruiz
I can see it going similiar to the Toney-Ruiz fight Haye looking for oppurtunity's to land and when he does he opens up with combo's I see him stopping Ruiz in the 7th round
Re: the wba - they have ordered haye vs ruiz
Nothing against the concept of a Ruiz mandatory first defence - the chance to defend at home, knock someone out before taking on more big Heavies.
What I do/will object to however is being charged £15 to watch John Ruiz fight.
Haye will now always be PPV and for £15 I want to see the Klitschkos, then King Kong, then Superman and they can see that Godzilla is doing after that.
I'm not paying £15 to watch John Ruiz.

BBC - Haye & Klitschko target showdown
WBA champion David Haye and WBC king Vitali Klitschko want a heavyweight unification clash next year.
Ukrainian Klitchsko told Radio 5live he is "ready to give Haye a fight and to knock him out" once he has got past American Kevin Johnson on 12 December.
Briton Haye, who faces a mandatory defence against former WBA champion John Ruiz, responded: "Let's get it on. I look forward to a mega-showdown."
Haye took the WBA title by outpointing Russian Nikolay Valuev on Saturday.
The 29-year-old Londoner won a majority decision in Nuremberg to become the first British world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis retired in 2003.
Haye has already seen one bout with Klitschko fall through and also pulled out of a June meeting with Klitschko's younger brother, IBF and WBO champion Wladimir, because of a back injury.
"It is very difficult to say what will happen in the future because Haye is so unpredictable, but I am ready at any time to fight him," said Klitschko, 38.
"I am the holder of the WBC belt, the belt that Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield and George Foreman held.
The WBC belt is the best in the world and I am ready to fight anyone in the world and prove that I am the strongest."
However, any meeting between Klitschko and Haye would only happen after they fulfil their contractual obligations first.
"I have to defend against Ruiz because that was part of the deal for me to fight Valuev," said Haye. "Ruiz took money to step aside on the understanding that he would fight the winner.
So I have to fight him as he is the mandatory challenger and they would strip the title off me if I didn't."
That bout may take place in London, possibly in March next year, but the pair need to overcome injuries first.
Haye revealed that he broke his right hand in his victory over Valuev, while Ruiz suffered a nasty cut during his win against Adnan Serin on Saturday's undercard in Germany.
Frank Bruno hailed Haye's bravery in taking on and beating the 7ft Valuev, who had only lost one of his previous 51 fights.
"I thought he had the talent and the speed and ability to beat the guy," said Bruno, a former WBC heavyweight champion.
"It took a lot of guts to come from cruiserweight and fight a man mountain like he did. He stuck to his guns."

Re: HAYE v RUIZ
Ruiz will be much easier to hit than Valuev and will be there to be hit all night. That said, Haye's chin is always going to be a question mark and I wouldn't be all that surprised if Ruiz stayed in there long enough to wear Haye down. That said, I'd expect Haye to hurt him with somthing on the way in and stop him fairly early. My guess would've been that if he fights Ruiz he might look to stage it in America or for an American audiance time wise. Ruiz has some name recognition and wouldn't be surprised if Haye fancies the idea of trying to 'crack' America.

Re: HAYE v RUIZ
haye's performance last night makes a mockery of him calling wlad ''bitchko'' for his safety first display against ibragimov. haye was much, much worse because he had continually said how he was going to KO valuev yet tried nothing of the sort until the final round.
he is obviously worried about taking a clean punch at heavyweight, even though valuev isn't a massive puncher in the division. either klitschko would be quick enough to cut the ring off and KO haye fairly quickly.
hopefully haye will be more humble in the build-up after last night's negative performance but i doubt it.
