Howard Eastman and British title

Post by Old bones Ian »

How come Howard isn't rated by the BBBoC, ok so he's been fighting overseas, but is a former british title holder, was a good one and he is still active.

Has Eastman stated that he wouldn't fight on these shores again?

How do you know he isn't rated?

Quite right in a way, as the board doesn't do ratings, but he isn't getting named in any eliminators.

Is he not the middleweight champion of Guyana and thus ineligible to be rated as a British middleweight?

There is probably some rule about reigning foreign champions not being eligible to fight for the British title.

Never knew he was still around.

He's finished at world level, Abraham saw to that.

Eastman did 12 rnds with Abraham in Germany - the decision could have easily gone the other way if it wasn't in Germany/Austria.

IMO It's been one of Abrahams toughest fight - up there with Miranda

How about Irish/British champs? Not sure off the top of my head if anyone has held the two simultaneously, but definitely some guys have fought for/won both. Gomez, for example.

He did win the Irish title last year but vacated the British in late 2007 when injured to allow stablemate Woolcombe to fight for it.
