His performance against Lynes was excellent and he is massivley improving! To be fair I guess Souley has first crack at Paul, that would be a big step up! But after that a world title shot is possible!

I think your dislike for Khan is clouding your judgement.

Khan looked awesome against Kotelnik, dominated every round. He deserves any praise he gets these days.

McCloskey wouldn't land a punch on him.

I was fairly impressed with him he seem's to have decent power and good angle work I really liked his straight left hand worked effectively. I'm not sure if he can go to world level as he was quite open and if Rasilla threw more he would of landed more imo

Styles make fights,

I think McCloskey needs to start fighting some tougher opposition as he seems to be going through the motions in his fights. He always seems to coast through fights and I feel he only beats whats in front of him.

He does have very good head movement (underrated by many, its so good he has the ability to stand still in middle of the ring and sit on down on his shots). He is a counter puncher, not in Kotelniks mould (whereby Kotelnick soaks up punchs on the his arms, McCLoskey ducks or leans out of the way of punches). I think Kotelnik McCloskey would be a horrible fight to watch, I suppose McCloskey could pull of UD by being busier than his opponent.

I highly doubt allegedly or Freddie Roach would put Khan anywhere near him, he is not the type of fighter they want. I think roach said in an interview that he won't be fighting Maidanna ant time soon. Fighters like Salita and Kotelnick will be the order of the day for Khan's next few fights, fighters who are slower and have little or no pop. Style vs Style, McCloskey is all wrong for Khan, McCloskey causes you too throw flurries of punches just so you can hit him (and by doing so leaves you open for getting hit). Also McCloskey has proven power and plenty of stamina, no that fight just won't happen unless McCloskey beats real contenders at this level and gets a larger fan base.

What will be interesting will be Khans next fight after Salita, with Ortiz (very bad news for Khan) fighting Diaz to reclaim recognition and Madianna having a stay active fight with Gonzalez, it looks like Khan will need to get creative with his next opponents... I suppose there is always Ricky Hatton or the winner of the Malinanggi Diaz fight (which would be a solid enough fight).

Talking Khan for McCloskey when there's british level fights that he'd have to work double hard to win: Rees, Daws...Witter!? Murray moving up would have him aswell.

McCloskey looked good against a woeful Spanish champ.

That said I he's got skills and is on his way. But matching him with Khan is crazy talk.

I like McCloskey, i think he's pretty good. I've enjoyed the fights of his i've seen.

As mentioned by Yiddo i'd like to see him fight Kotelnik that would be a very interesting fight. I think McCloskey willl do a number on M'Baye and look pretty good. I hope they keep him a little more active and he has a big year next year.
