J'leon Love may adapt well.
Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
The easy answer is the ones with talent!
If you are talking about the boxers who will have a shot at a world championship, I think you still look at the best of the top ranked amateurs. If you are talking about who would make an exciting pro and be crowd pleasing, etc, then it may be others. They might not have the talent to win a world title, but they will give you a great show - a new version of Arturo Gatti.

I think Luis Arias would make a good pro. Powerful, skilled, aggressive and exciting. Same with Pedro Sosa, but he is still really young I think and may not turn pro for a while.

Siju Shabazz and Derae Crane would make exciting pros. I think someday Zeddie Adams could be an exciting pro. Frankie Gomez too.

Derae Crane would make a good pro....feels like he's been an amateur forever but he's still pretty young.
I bet he's had at least 200 fights by now.

Was it the Light Welterweight Valentino? The other top amaeur they have i think is the Heavyweight Clemente Russo.alexpaterson wrote:Roberto Cammerelle looks suited to the pro's good boxer and there was another Italien who won gold at the commonwealth in Italy looked very good and suited to the pro's can anyone help with a name? Others who could be good additions i'd say are Roman KAPITONENKO, Yegor MEKHONTSEV, Sergey VODOPIYANOV, Vasyl LOMACHENKO, Mcwilliams ARROYO ACEVEDO & Roniel IGLESIAS SOTOLONGO.

Think Valentino is born in 1983 so not exactly a baby at 26 now but a good age to go pro if that's what he decides to do.alexpaterson wrote:Yes that sounds right and it was World Amatuer Championships not the Commonwealth he looked excellent and was very young if I remember correctlyEl Raincoat wrote:Was it the Light Welterweight Valentino? Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
Oscar Valdez will make a good pro. Solid skills, good power, excellent body puncher...
Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
The boxers to make the best transitions from amateur to pro will be the boxer/punchers. A puncher will get outclassed when he fights a boxer. A boxer who "pitty-pats" cuz he has no power will not get any respect - like Malignaggi got "hammered" by Ricky Hatton. But the boxer/puncher is the most difficult of all to fight cuz he will be technical and scientific and look out - he can take you out with his power. So look for the amateurs that are excellent boxers who can hurt you with one shot!
Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
Definitely Lomachenko. He fights with a pro style that he's used well in the amateurs. Excellent movement, solid boxing skills, and good power. I don't think he'd have to change much in his style if he came to the pros.

I would love to see Badaar Uugan try it out, after the next Olympics or so. Unfortunately a Mongolian olympic gold medalist will be able to live a pretty good life so I doubt it will happen.

Yeah i'd like to see some of the Mongolian Olympians go pro. There tough guys and i'd say could make an impact on the pro's.
The must of set up some kind of Boxing school over the past few years because they seemed to come from know where to do well at the Olympics.
Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
Speaking of amateurs to turn pro, does anyone know if Raushee Warren is going for another olympic tournament?
Re: Amateurs to Pro which ones make the best ones?
Rumor is he isn't. Can't confirm, however. My opinion is that he won't do well in the pros.
