Do you agree with the article or do you think there are other candidates for fighter of the year taking into account fights before the years end?

I don't the like the idea of giving it to Pacquiao for the second year in a row [even though he 100% deserved it last year], I think if Paul Williams beats Martinez convincingly he is for a shout but unlike last year there is not many that stick out for contention this year.

Yeah, I think the winner must be classed as fighter of the year. I would feel a little bad giving it to Cotto, given the fact that many thought he was a tad fortunate to get the Clottey decision, but there are not many other Canditates.

Here are some maybe worth mentioning.

Shane Mosley - 1 fight in 2009, but what a fight and what a performance.

Tim Bradley - Partially unifies, then looks to score a win over the #1 ranked Lightweight at the time - only for the fight to be ruled a no contest.

Thats really about it.

The likes of Froch, Adamek, Haye, Vitali, Wlad, Williams and Abraham have had good years - but not really in the same league as the winner of Manny and Cotto.
