Vauge and abstract- Sum up boxing in a sentence.

Post by whicker »

Britain has three "world" champions, 2 of whom have never fought for the British title.

....

Think up similar "state of the game" snippets, if you can.

Of the next 100 fights on British soil, over 95 will probably be won by the favourite.

Boxing currently has hundreds of reigning world champions but only 17 weight divisions.

On a more positive note I thought De La Hoya - Pacquiao was going to be a total mismatch.

And I'm going to cheat and have a second sentence:

The business stinks but the sport is the greatest sport there is.

And to clarify - I know DLH-Pacman was a total mismatch but not in the way I envisaged. :box:

Wait, you mean the WBU champion isn't the "real" world champion, now I am confused!

OK, so he is the WBA world champion, he is the WBC champion, he is the IBF champion, he is the WBO champion, he is the IBO champion, he is the WBU champion and he is the WBF champion, what do you mean you are bored, I haven't got round to the interim champs, the international champs and WBA super champs yet!

The sport where a man moves up the rankings, even though he's been dead 3 months - yes the WBO of course.
I think one of our favorite promoters even tried to match him up for a world title defence, but no one knew where he was buried.
