Here's your chance to vote for the fight of the 00's, non-pareil!
To keep voting reasonable, I'm just going to allow nominees to be restricted to the Ring's FOTY winners for each calendar year. Feel free to mention whichever fights you like & recall them fondly from 2000-present, but those will be the only voting options available.
Have at it, & let's see what we come up with...

Re: Vote For The Fight Of The Decade!
It should probably be MAB-Morales I as the front-runner, with Vasquez-Marquez II as my runner-up. I'd add in Morales-Pacquao I which I think is a very under-rated scrap.
Lots will say Corrales-Castillo but unfortunately the ref's actions in that last round always sour that bout for me. But I think Vasquez-Marquez II and MAB-Morales I had more exciting turns of the tide thoughout the bout as well.
Hard to leave out Ward-Burton though . . .damn this is tough!

You didn't think the ref should've stopped the bout in Corrales Castillo 1?dempseyfire wrote:It should probably be MAB-Morales I as the front-runner, with Vasquez-Marquez II as my runner-up. I'd add in Morales-Pacquao I which I think is a very under-rated scrap.

No, I'm referring to the ref basically saving Coralles from a KO after he spit out his mouthpiece twice; he should have let the fight continue and not called a halt for the mouthpiece to come back in per the rules . .Grimm wrote:You didn't think the ref should've stopped the bout in Corrales Castillo 1?dempseyfire wrote:It should probably be MAB-Morales I as the front-runner, with Vasquez-Marquez II as my runner-up. Morales vs Barrera 1 for me there was blood and guts, determination, warrior spirit and also lots of skill were I feel Gatti v Ward didnt have that skill level. Although I didnt agree with the decision it was a brilliant fight. It gets my vote

Morales-Barrera I leads the voting here, but Corrales-Castillo I is on top in Current Scene.

I would lean toward Barrera-Morales I. Ward-Gatti I and Corrales-Castillo I are great candidates as well, but I feel B-M I just seemed to define the whole decade somehow, as if it was a standard by which subsequent great fights (especially in the lower weight classes) were measured.
