Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.

Post by SnoopyLoopy »

Ndou wanted to touch gloves loads of times during the fight, Hatton snubbed him.

Ndou showed respect to him in the post fight interview, even saying he thought Hatton perforated his eardrum and Hatton acts like a right tosspot.

Glad you didn't get the win tonight tosser

i am with you snoopy, matthew made himself look a right cock, i noticed the glove touching thing, also thought matthew was classless after the fight.

does the prat really think that if you throw more shots and land more it automatically wins you the fight? ... we laid that debate to bed after the haye fight.

i thought it was a close fight, i had n'dou shading it going into the last 2, there is an arguament to give hatton the last 2 but hey, a draw is a fair result. bad luck hatton, and learn some sportsmanship. n'dou offered the rematch, on his own patch, hatton fcuked him aff....ar5ehole !!

go for the british title hatton...prove yourself domestically.

and tell ian darke the fight was for the IBO not the WBU, he got muddled up near the end of the fight.

Yep was very poor sportsmanship, the very top boxers and sportsmen can show class, win, lose or draw. End of the day N'Dou was being respectful at the end and not getting drawn into a slanging match, showed the class of a top class sportsman whilst Hatton showed he doesn't really handle himself that well.

A bad night I thought for Ian Darke.

Possibly the worst line I have ever heard in Commentators history when he said this was as big an achievement as Ricky beating Kostya!!!!!

I do agree, although I have to say sometimes the press can ask be a little bit too quick. That was a very dissapointing decision (nobody feels satisfied with a draw, although I it tallied with my card). Matthew obviously thought he won, and to expect him to be all nice as pie 3 minutes after such a decision, without time to reflect or think, can be tough.

Yes, other boxers do it, I am sure Matthew will regret his post fight interview.

I feel the same for all other sports stars, remember Paula Radcliffe's interview after the last Olympics. The girl had trained all her life for that moment, and broke down again. 5 minutes after was expected to answer questions on why she was shit again!

Yes, Ricky should have taken some control, as his promoter, or his dad as manager and got him to the dressing room without interviews.... giving Matthew time to reflect - but its hard for a boxer, whose put their life into it, to think about PR and sportsmanship straight after a fight where he believes he's been jobbed.

I'm sure when he will reflect, he will be sorry for his actions. It was a huge pressure night for him, I guess it got to him a little.

I thought Ndou, who can be sometimes unsporting also, was fantastic in his post fight interview.

 your eyes yourself Hurlock. There's nothing wrong with touching gloves, was very distasteful from the crapper Hatton.

Hope the rematch happens and Ndou gets some sparring in beforehand.. definitely believe he'd ruin M.Hatton when a little sharper.

Hatton reacted as if he had been totally robbed and that he won by a mile, fact is he didn't. He acted like a spoilt little brat, maybe he thought being on his brothers promotion he'd get gift treatment and he only had to hear the last bell to win. Last night was good for boxing and Hatton promotions in that people including fighters who would be 'opponents' on their shows can expect no bias and fair treatment.

I had Ndou three up with three to go and at a push I gave the last three to Hatton. I had it 114-114.

I don`t understand the likes of Johnny Nelson saying Hatton won it by about 5 rounds. Is my scoring that far off, or does Nelson know nothing?

He might have been influenced by what his corner told him. But yeah, I think he came across badly there.

What was odd, too, was the comment "If I can't get a fair decision over here..."

I agree. It was like he was trying to sell an average international welterweight clash as something a lot more grander to the non-boxing fan.

I noticed that line too, but to be fair to Darkie, I think what he meant, was that TO MATTHEW HATTON it would in it's own way, be as big an achievement to win the IBO title, given his lower level of talent and expectation than Ricky.

Yes, that is exactly what he meant.

Ian Darke did make that clear enough.

And it IS a fair comparisson, too- Ndou is to Matthew what Kostya was to Ricky - a clear favourite going into the fight, experience at a higher level etc.

Agree it was unsporting by Hatton. If I wanted to watch unsporting cheats throwing their toys out of the pram, football would be my favourite sport. Please don't drag the sport down to Prem League level, with dissent at every turn...

On my card it was 115-114 to Ndou. It was very close, and if you had the fight to Hatton by one round, fair enough. But I can't see a case for a victory for either fighter by several rounds... Any talk of robbery seems totally OTT to me.

yeah - Matt was very unsporting to N'dou - he refused to touch gloves with him several times in the fight and he came across really bad in the post-fight interview - totally disrespecting N'dou - who has been in the ring with a lot more quality.

Hatton Promotions are putting on great shows - definitely a breath of fresh air.

Awful, because when they find out they have lost, they chuck their arms about in a huff like a spoilt teenager. :shame:

Well, I think reacting like that at the end of the fight is also just part of the relief that the fight is over- Hattton, presumably, DID feel won, so it's not an unusual reaction- if not as a direct celebration of victory, at least as a show that he is pleased personnally with his performance.

Nail and head spring to mind, think that is where the problem has come from the Hatton team ringside were telling him to stay away and not get involved from about half way through the 11th or possibly earlier. They gave him the impression it was in the bag, when it cannot have been on anyones card.

I had Hatton 2 behind after 9 and gave him the last three, although thought he lost the first minute of the 12th but came back to win the round for me.

Therefore Hatton by 1 and I think I am a fair marker to be honest, no allegiences or such like.

Have no problem with anyone going up to three rounds the other way therefore N'Dou by two is no problem for me, equally Hatton by 3 or 4 would not be impossible.

Some of the rounds were hard to score with both men having spells during the three minutes of most rounds which might have impressed, also the camera angle at times left it difficult to see if the punches were actually landing or blocked.

The thing that got me more pissed off that anything is asking boxers to come down those effing steps with the twats either side, one grabbed Hatton, another abused N'Dou right in his face and when the corner man had a word he got an earful of what looked dubious use of the english language as well and I am not sure you can father children at his age anyway. :shame:

They need to do something about that entrance area, its an accident waiting to happen and the minority will ruin it for the majority if they are not careful there.

No complaints with the result. N'dou should ask for big money if there is a rematch. Hatton acted like a twit. Good promotion from Ricky last night.
