Re: BIG MAC
Good comeback fight hopefully will get his confidence back, I see him finishing it early
Re: BIG MAC
Comeback fight? He's never going to come back from 3 brutal knockouts in his last 4 fights. His only saving grace is he is young enough and is a weak division to continue carving a living out of boxing.
But in truth, the likeable Swansea man looked very delicate lately. Like egg shell under a jack boot.
I do think he was left out in cold after serving his purpose by Wazza and Enzo C.
They pawned him in against an elite fighter like Haye, took their slice of the cake and left him to rot.

is that not good promotion from FW, if you see a decline then you must reap the finances while you can. and FW did what he did best, filled his pockets and kicked enzo into touch. cruel but shrewd.G0mez wrote:Comeback fight? Re: BIG MAC
When I saw Vegas against Miranda, I thought he did alright and thought he may of beat him if he was fitter. We all know that Macs fights don't normally last that long so if Vegas catches him with a few early on, Vegas could beat him, I think it comes down to who lands the best early on because I don't see it lasting longer than 5 rounds.

I think your giving FW way too much credit. This was a guy who threatend to retire if Haye beat Enzo.rhino222 wrote:is that not good promotion from FW, if you see a decline then you must reap the finances while you can. and FW did what he did best, filled his pockets and kicked enzo into touch. cruel but shrewd.G0mez wrote:Comeback fight? Enzo was then FROZEN out by Warren for sticking with Enzo Calzaghe. Then when Enzo showed loyality to Frank, look what happend.
I for one minute don't think Frank believed Enzo was in "decline". He fully expected Enzo to beat Ola, which would have got him a world title fight. When he lost that, he was still given a chance of a good, inflated, ranking against a highly ranked, promising, but ulitmately unproven Lebedev.
Did Warren see Enzo losing to Lebedev.... Nope.
If Warren has no faith in Enzo, thinks he has served his purpose - why give him another chance to rebuild. Enzo has lost 2 on the bounce.... that usually means "out" for FW.
Warren has simply overated Enzo, end of.

Enzo Macc vows to win back title
Former WBO cruiserweight champ Enzo Maccarinelli hopes to return with a win when he fights at the Metro Arena in Newscastle on December 5 and has also vowed to win back his world title.
The 29 year-old from Swansea has lost three of his last four fights including his WBO title to newly crowned heavyweight champ David Haye in 2008 and has vowed to continue boxing until he regains his world title.
"After my last fight against Denis Lebedev there was talk of me retiring,” said Maccarinelli.
"I had a long think about where my career was going, but I’ve got my hunger back now.
"Being a world champion meant a lot to me and it hurt so much losing my world title.
"There’s no way that I’ll quit before I win it back, and the plan is to have a couple of warm-up fights before stepping up to championship level in 2010."
Talking about his latest defeat at the hands of unbeaten Russian Denis Lebedev Maccarinelli added:: "There were a few things that weren’t right in the ring against Lebedev and it wasn’t a question of me not being good enough, I just didn’t fight the right fight.

He can win it back! The wbu:-)
Re: Enzo Macc vows to win back title
He would never beat Adamek. Haye vs Adamek would be a cracking fight though.

Yes, he should have fought somebody that wasn't better than him...G0mez wrote:Former WBO cruiserweight champ Enzo Maccarinelli hopes to return with a win when he fights at the Metro Arena in Newscastle on December 5 and has also vowed to win back his world title.

You'd have thought his love for Enzo would stretch to installing a bit of ensuite in that famous shed.G0mez wrote:Flint is in his shed, putting Macca on his lead and taking him for a piss.Des1 wrote:Come on FLINT ISLAND, whereare your thoughts?

Re: BIG MAC
Warren and little Enzo both believed in him, too much I grant you, but IMO they thought he could win. I am not sure, like yourself, if he still has the confidence and belief in himself to start winning again. He was beaten up good and proper last time and I wanted to see him quit. If it should happen again then it really has to be, game over.G0mez wrote:Comeback fight? He's never going to come back from 3 brutal knockouts in his last 4 fights. Enzo is finished. He wasn't that good to begin with, just a typical FW hype job.
Power overrated, skills overrated, as a fighter way way overrated.
Re: BIG MAC
And now, its not even Joey Vegas.
Enter Krisztian Jaksi, with 6-12-4 record. Jeez....
And when people put this kinda stuff into his head, its all gonna end badly at some point again,'There were a few things that weren't right in the ring against Lebedev and it wasn't a question of me not being good enough, I just didn't fight the right fight'.
Fair play to the big man for wanting to have another crack (I think he needs the dosh tbh), but he will never get where he wants to be. Just needs to save himself from this and go do something else.
