He has been waiting a long time for his shot, but does anyone think he can beat Hopkins?

And will it be on BBC TV?

What bothers me about Eastman has been his relative inactivity in 2004, didn't have enough fights. It showed when he struggled to to points beat some opponents he should've finished off.

I think he should've taken another couple of fights in 2004 then what he actually did. And perhaps tested himself a bit more, even though losing would've been a disaster towards the Hopkins encounter.

No chance of beating Hopkins. Howard Eastman is even more over-rated than the likes of Hatton and Calzaghe.

He is biggest win is over Robert frigging McCraken, bloody years ago too. Unbelieveable, I really think people get carried away with the eccentric image and the funky blonde beard look.

As for it being on the BBC, probably next day at 11.45pm kind of thing.

I agree with Goz, take a closer look at his Eastmans record, and he has only fought at world level once, and he missed the boat on that occasion.

He hasn't looked very good in his last couple of fights either.

He has everything stacked against him in this fight. His only hope is if Hopkins has gone old or decides to stand and trade.

I have been a critic of Eastman since the Joppy loss, he looked slow and lethargic and frankly a level below Hopkins. However, I have to say his win over Solimiman is looking good now (not that Soliman could do anything against Hopkins, but has fought his way to the number 1 ranking).

Eastman got the number 1 ranking by default really, no eliminator bouts.

Even that win over Soliman was back when Sam was taking fights at one weeks notice etc...

Never really seen what the fuss is over Eastman, and yes the way he performed against Joppy on what should have been the biggest night of his boxing career was nothing short of naff.

Was reading Hopkins record on Boxrec and was he a lightheavyweight at first or a cruiserweight? Howcome he didn't stay at those levels. Says his weight started at 177.

Would like to watch Eastman fight but no were says yet what channel.

My understanding is that Hopkins has just been released from prison when he turned Pro and had not quite shed all the weight he had put on in prison. It took him a few more months to shed the last few pounds.
