That was a brilliant fight. Both fighters engaged in what Budd Schulberg referred to as "The Manly Art of No Defence" and it produced a
crackin contest. Samuels is as tough as a mule and Renda is an exciting puncher - hope he comes back as everytime I have watched him he has been brilliant value.

WOW, what a fight, I jumped right out of my seat when I saw the double knockdown! Big respect to both guys, but I really feel Renda should have won, if he wasn't so damn gung-ho! But I guess that's what makes him so exciting to watch!

Looking back, it's a shame Samuels was stopped so early against Groves (it was certainly premature)- clearly he is capable of winning and coming back strongly after heavy pressure and knockdowns.

Agree with everything already said about this but WHY OH WHY does the Sky presenter have to tip you off every fxxking time there is something good coming up ? Last night the guy said something like, "you've never seen anything like this" before they showed the fight. Why can't they just show the damn fights without those kind of comments ?

Well, presumably they need to do something to encourage people to stay tuned - don't forget most people watching (especially a Hatton show) probably wouldn't be interested in anything other than the main event.

This is why, of course, it's good to have support bouts on BEFORE the main event- get people warmed up.

Very entertaining fight and couldnt stop laughing after that KD they went down exactly at the same time and the same way it, I've never really rated Renda he has power but not much else but I expected him to beat Samuels comfterably but Samuels fought a very good fight and rolled back the years.

Groves win looks a lot better now :TU:

I'd like to see Samuels retire on that high. He's not half the fighter he was. The press up bit at the end was funny!!!

This is a similar moment in MMA.

In theory yes, but in reality that fight was stopped WAY too early. Groves hardly touched him and the ref jumped in.

Samuel`s "balding volume mullet" is a cracker. Surely he would be better shaving the whole thing off?

Renda is exiting to watch but has about as much technique as a pissed up caveman. No defence to speak of, holds his chin up every time he throws a punch. He will go nowhere fighting like that.

Great value to watch, but he a basic slugger, no more. He is young, but I can`t see him changing that style.

Samuels v Martin Murray as a british title eliminator should / could be next ? Sure Renda was in line for one.

With Murray being a far better prospect for Hatton promotions I dont see the mileage in hatton giving Renda an immediate rematch

When he was interviewed afterwards, Samuels did not actually realise there had been a double knckdown - he could hardly remember anything http://www.brandhatton.com/VideoNews/47 ... ecord.aspx
