So who wins Mayweather vs Pacquiao now?

Post by SnoopyLoopy »

Unreal performance by Pacquaio, UNREAL.

I now believe he has a serious chance against Floyd. He TOOK punches from Cotto. He is faster than Floyd and I think his fast flurries and the angles he punches from might actually breach the Mayweather defense. Mayweather will go down if he recieves a left hand from Pacman.

I think that Floyd would find a way, but damn, what a fight!

I'd pick Floyd UD though

After watching that i'm even more confident in Mayweather.

It may have been that Pacquiao was more reckless coming when coming forward once Cotto was in a full retreat due to frustration but if a beaten up Cotto can stay out of trouble for a couple of rounds and catch Manny with a couple of shots on the way in then Mayweather can do it for the whole 12 without too serious trouble.

x2.... although have to say Manny was also pretty fatigued too.

It would be a tough tough fight for both, but this alarmed me a tad. Pacquiao has the speed and power to hurt Mayweather. I think Pac will walk through Mayweathers shots, but just think Mayweather will outbox him.

Mayweather for me, he's still better than any fighter Manny has fought but I wouldn't right Manny off.

Sadly though the chances of this fight happening are slim, too many ego's involved.

If floyd would have the balls to drop down to a decent catchweight, pac man all the way for me.

Are you nuts? Pacman the weight reducing tactics stink! Dlh at 147 and Cotto at 145! Floyd beats dlh at light middle and give away 10lbs plus on the night against most. Usually!

I'll go against the grain here and say I think Manny would ruin Mayweather. Throws too many shots for Floyd to cope with.

I wonder what the odds would be.

I thought it would be around 1/2 for Floyd after the JMM fight but after that last performance by Pac I think it might be

Floyd 5/6
Pacman 5/6
Draw 50/1

We can only hope for this one, its a big if whether it comes off or not. Supposing it does, I would give Pacquiao a real chance against Mayweather. I think it could go either way and I am not convinced Mayweather would have it all his own way. I think Pacman can hurt Mayweather and surprise everyone. A real dream of a fight and I would say picking the winner is no straightforward matter

Both looked amazing in their last fights, I've always thought Mayweather would beat him to slick but after that im not sure it would be a very intresting fight, I would lean to PBF though

I think pacman and roach will come up with a masterplan to beat PBF, id be suprised if the fight happens PBF likes to dodge dangerous fighters, having said that paquiao is alot smaller than him so he might still fancy his chances.

I predicted Manny would KO Hatton. I predicted Manny would beat Cotto on points. But I think Mayweather late KO. After being up by around 6 rounds.

mayweather doesnt like to work at a pace , manny throws punches in bunches and is relentless

also manny is quick enough to get in and out when mayweather goes to the ropes

right now floyd is still fav , but a small fav

i hope manny beats him though

I think Mayweather on points but I also thought Cotto on points and he got destroyed. Floyd will retreat, fight smart, frustrate Manny and should took an anti-climactic decision. But if Manny can leap in and drill PBF with one of those loaded straight lefts then at the very least Floyd gets his chin tested more than it's ever been.
I think it's bound to happen. Only Mosley can throw a spanner in the works by beating Berto (who many just outbox a 38 year old Sugar Shane) and then negotiating a fight with either one. Outside of that there aren't many really valid options. :TU:

What a great victory for Manny last night. He ruined Cotto and took some meaty shots without looking wobbled. He is on a great run.

But, it has to be said, DLH was drained, Hatton a little past his best and Cotto forced to lose 2 extra pounds. Put him in with a relatively fresh and prepared Mayweather and I think he will struggle.

Floyd won't lose his composure like Cotto did at times and will be a more effective counter puncher. I think Mayweather can out box for a UD but it won't be easy at all.

Agree with all you say apart from thr Hatton bit. Hatton was NEVER in the elite. At his peak he was b level. At best!

The weight restriction takes s bit away from him.

He is still lacking technically. Pbf will show him!

Pacman already has a better resimue at welterweight then Mayweather has achieved.

If you disregard Hatton and Marquez who were fighting out of their best weight classes and ODL which happened at Light Middle then Floyd only has wins over Shamba Mitchell, Zab Judah and Baldomir.

Pacquiao has wins over ODLH and Cotto at welterweight now which beats anything Mayweather has ever done in the weight division.

The only doubt i had about Pac were answered last night about how he could take a welterweight punch from a big hitter like Cotto and i doubt Mayweather is going to bring anything new that he hasn't faced now so Pacman now starts as favourite to me.
