Good servant to Merseyside and British boxing. Thought sky was the limit for the man when he comprehensively outboxed Steve Foster for the WBU title. That fight seems a long time ago now.

Same here. A great fight to watch but that really showed his level. Hope he does well in anything he chooses.

I think it is a shame what happened to Mathews in his last few fights.

I think he should have been brought back into title contention more slowly, after suffering 3 stoppage losses within a twelve month period. It is like the way Martin Power's recent record has gone.
