He was with the Calzaghes, but I think they have just scrapped their second show, so don't know what's happening

1 fight in two years - I hope he is on a base rate tracker mortgage cos that isnt a great way to go about payin the bills
Re: Tony Doherty
Doherty is an outstanding natural talent, in my book, and right now he is wasting valuable time.
Re: Tony Doherty
As Ive said before had real high hopes for him as he was a superb amateur, just hasnt showed that potential in the pro game at all.

Can you get a mortgage on a caravan?! Would like to see Doc back boxing in title class - he showed alot of talent in his early pro career and he can certainly shift tickets!sligobhoy67 wrote:right!Coco wrote:He is with the Calzaghe's, down to them to get him some work now

Re: Tony Doherty
Looks like he's on the decent Calazaghe bill this weekend, hopefully they get enough sells to continue with their shows.
Thought he was a good boxer a couple of years ago, hope he's still decent.

He actually had to lose 5 stone to get back into shape.
The reason he didn't fight was he had family problems, i think his son was ill.

Five stone? That's seventy lbs. Just how long did that take him & is it not worrying by him losing so much weight could have an adverse effect on him even if he lost the weight over a long period?El Raincoat wrote:He actually had to lose 5 stone to get back into shape.

Damn, that's a lot of weight to shift! Is he boxing at Welter this weekend?

Roberto Duran regularly used to shed similar amounts of weight between fights. Whilst it cant be good for Docherty, it is not unprecidented.Rocky Balboa wrote:Five stone? That's seventy lbs. Re: Tony Doherty
I know i was surprised. I saw him at the amiden Calzaghe card in February an he looked big then. I think he's been trained properly for six months. Not sure it'll be at 147 i'd imagine more like 154 as he gets himself back t ofighting weight.Rocky Balboa wrote:Five stone? That's seventy lbs. Re: Tony Doherty
Even at his peak he looked like he could probably get down to 140 if he trained / cut weight harder.
