Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
Totally agree he was terrible in the interview came across very badly, I had N'Dou winning 115-113 but it was very close it definetly wasnt a robbery
Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
James, thats what Darke might have meant - but it was a bad comment clear or not. What happens if Matthew would have won and moved up to the next level.... is that then "Floyd Mayweather" to him?
Matthew is trying to forge into geniune world class in his own right (he won't get there, but he is trying) - thats kind of a "knock em down" comment, and also Darke was saying about Hatton wanting to get out of the shadows and at the same time makes comparisons!

x2 excellent night of boxing. hatton promotions is really doing well and putting on some good showsDG. wrote:No complaints with the result. N'dou should ask for big money if there is a rematch. Hatton acted like a twit. Good promotion from Ricky last night.
Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
That's what I was thinking. And, if you were in Matthew's position, I'd say that comments like that, and they one about giving you a kicking to draw your brother out of retirement might, justifiably, get under your skin. Combine that with the disappointment of not getting a fight he thought he'd won, and is it any wonder he had the hump?mrrocco wrote:hang on, Ndou talked Hatton down and called him a donkey who couldn't fight.....hardly sportsmanlike himself/////

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
Ndou kept things civil after the fight, but Hatton wasn't having any of it, which was pathetic. Shows a lack of class imo!
Ok, I understand after all the work Matthew put in throughout training & the effort in the actual fight, Hatton felt terrible after the verdict was announced, but Ndou thought he won the fight aswell & didn't act like Hatton!
Ndou even said about a rematch, but let's have it in South Africa or Australia as he has travelled to the UK to face Hatton, but even then, Matthew seemed aggressive when giving his answer!
Ndou made a very good point that when challenging for a title, as challenger you have got to take the title from the champion!
Only way to settle it all is a rematch but whether Ndou would come to the UK again, I'm not so sure?

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
Matt Hatton is a belter, a total clown to act the way he did. The fight was very tight, he was 3 rounds down with 3 to go, for me anyway, did he win the last 3? maybe, but certainly wasnt a robbery, and that clown saying he won by 5 rounds wtfuck
Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
I had Hatton 10 rounds down in the warm up, so effectively he needed a double knockdown in 11 rounds or more, to draw.

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
yeah matt didn't really cover himself in glory.
it was a close run thing and a draw wasn't much wrong.
it went the way i thought it might.
very evenly matched but with matt not perhaps doing quite enough.
lovemore still wants to get ricky in the ring then.
been chasing that one for yonks now.
give it up lovemore.

"with the home advantage I'm puzzled to say the least".....R. Hatton..
pretty much sums up how boxing works in a sentence.
Didn't think M. Hatton's interview was all that bad, I expected it to be a lot worse by the posts. Just sounded cheesed off.

If he thought that he really won that fight he's delusioned. He thought he'd get the decision even though he lost because it was his brothers promotion.mickeyb wrote:That's what I was thinking. The one on the website isn't the actual interview we are talking about. There was an interview at ringside where he was sitting with Lovemore.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:"with the home advantage I'm puzzled to say the least".....R. Hatton..![]()

I agree, it was total nonsense.stujones wrote:A bad night I thought for Ian Darke.
Possibly the worst line I have ever heard in Commentators history when he said this was as big an achievement as Ricky beating Kostya!!!!!

Poor attitude by Matt Hatton. A draw was a fair decision but I think Ndou landed the better punches. I am glad Hatton wasnt given any favours and the scoring was honest and accurate. Couldnt believe Nelson who believed Hatton won by five rounds.
Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
i had n'dou winning matt fought well but the home "advantage" got him the draw to make it look like he did better than he did

Maybe you missed some of the pathetic sh*t that Ndou was saying about Hatton pre-fight.SnoopyLoopy wrote:Ndou wanted to touch gloves loads of times during the fight, Hatton snubbed him.
Ndou showed respect to him in the post fight interview, even saying he thought Hatton perforated his eardrum and Hatton acts like a right tosspot.
Glad you didn't get the win tonight tosser
I don't blame Hatton for not wanting to act pally pally during the fight, nor after particularly after he'd been harshly treated on the cards.
Ndou really had no choice but to show Hatton respect after the fight, he'd just found out the 'donkey' was every bit his match and some. He'd have looked a right prick if he'd continued to insult Matthew.

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
It was a terrible fight to watch,Matthew Hatton is a very poor Welterweight and although Ndou was well past his prime I thought he did enough to win. That was the closet thing I have seen to "Buying" a title for your little brother. When Ndou unloaded on Hatton he shit his pants.

watched the whole fight & scored n'dou 2 clear rds, being generous to hatton.hatton dont throw a good right hand he slaps & i dont score silly shots.hatton thinks he's alot better then what he is.
just because your @ home on a family promotion dont take it as a given :!:
Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
There seems to be an unwritten rule in boxing where a boxer can say what he likes before the fight, then act humble and reserved following. Mayweather Hatton was an example, although it's easier to be humble given the spanking Mayweather gave Ricky.
That said, it seems to be a trait in the Hatton family, as I remember Ricky being distinctly bitter himself following the Floyd bout.
Matthew Hatton's reaction wasn't right, but then this is boxing. It can't be all sweetness and light, especially when you feel hard done by. I thought he won the fight, but it wasn't clear cut, and I understand the drawn result.

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
I haven't watched it since the fight took place, but I remember a sour taste when he was speaking. Was he not ungracious, deluded and unaccepting of how the fight went? A similarly deluded notion that he was winning the 2nd round against Pacquiao has recently escaped his lips.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but this self confidence that both the Hatton brothers seem to possess isn't reflected by their performances in the ring.
That said, I've enjoyed Ricky's career as much as any other, but in recent times the way he talks about himself (in the third person) belies the fact of what he really is: sub elite.

Re: Matthew Hatton, learn some sportsmanship mate.
The thing that got me more pissed off that anything is asking boxers to come down those effing steps with the twats either side, one grabbed Hatton, another abused N'Dou right in his face and when the corner man had a word he got an earful of what looked dubious use of the english language as well and I am not sure you can father children at his age anyway.
They need to do something about that entrance area, its an accident waiting to happen and the minority will ruin it for the majority if they are not careful there.

too true, the security were standing at the bottom of the steps doing nothing, bet they didnt chuck one particular guy out afterwards did they? terrible behaviour and unfortunately is reflective on the type of d'cks that seem to go to boxing events these days..also at each event security is terrible, just a token effort, that guy who was giving N'Dou sh@t should have been chucked out...finally, matt hatton is domestic class at best and easily lost the fight
