What's the story with Irish fighters from Northern Ireland who fight under Irish flags but have British flags beside them in boxrec?
Martin Rogan and Paul McCloskey are two examples. Can you remove the British flag and at least put a NI flag if not an Irish one?
Thanks
Irish fighters, British flags
Re: Irish fighters, British flags
Not wishing to be drawn into a complex arguement which has already been debated long and hard on these boards, both are British licensed, as is Matthew Macklin. As such they fall into the category of British rated boxers.

That's just the way I'd do it Sligo, British title eligibility wise as much as anything. Not saying for a moment there's a solution that keeps everyone happy. It's such a complex issue.

What if they are eligible for the Irish and British title - is there an automatic default to list as British?
Re: Irish fighters, British flags
Yeh I went lookin through the archives. but all I got were bitchfights. Sligo's question still stands re eligibility. Also, what about Macklin who vacated the British title? Does that count?mexican roadsweeper wrote:Not wishing to be drawn into a complex arguement which has already been debated long and hard on these boards, both are British licensed, as is Matthew Macklin.
