Yes just what I was thinking - the guy obviously has the same PR talents as his boss Oscar - namely, an excellent line in bulls**t.

His other line - "Scott Harrison is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in the United States."

Eh? Did we miss something??

I had to pinch myself there too, just goes to show, there's lies, damned lies, and then PR.

What on earth has Harrison done that would have made him so popular in the states.

Having said all that, I think there's a chance that Barrera might get complacement, he's talking Scott up, but I bet he reckons he's got the measure of the stone eyed Mr Harrison, could blow up in his face.

I think Harrison could make a good fight against Barrera. I would obviously favour barrera, but I think it would be a pretty fiercely contested fight.

If an old fighter like Medina can outbox Harrison, a clever one like Barrera will do has he pleases.
To beat Barrera it has been shown takes a quick punching type, Harrison is not one of these.

Barrera would beat Harrison I am sure of that. And I doubt it would be that close, Scott is good but Barrera does everything better the only edge he would have is size and strength but Barrera has shown he can negate those advantages in his fight with Morales who was naturally bigger and in all honesty much better than Harrison.

Barerra is big also at the weight , I know he has come up from super-bantam but when he stood side by side with Hamed he looked so much bigger.

Remember Barrera against Paul Loyd in 1999? I see that against Harrison. OK, Harrison may decide to punch it out because he's not the most mobile of fighters and he probably won't fall in the first as he's a bit better than Lloyd was, but Barrera will tee off on him as he pleases. Watch for a Barrera masterclass with a finish in the 7th.

Barrera throws those terrific combinations, Scott wouldn't know what hit him. Too many punches for him.

This is the way I see it. Scott often looks bamboozled when guys tee off combinations on him. I think it might be like the first Medina fight, but instead of throwing punches in bunches and using slippery movement, the combinations Barrera would throw would be much, much harder and accurate. His movement wouldn't use up as much ring space as Medina's, but it would be more concise, and the angles he would create for his combinations would give Scott hell and make it decend into a torturous night for him. Saying that, I think if Scott comes in really psyched up for the fight his heart can get him to the later rounds, maybe (and it's a big maybe) lasting the distance.

This is all assuming the best version of Barrera turns up, maybe the wins against Ayala and Morales flatter to decieve? While I doubt this, I'd still like to see Harrison - Barrera, would love it actually. I think a focussed Scott, despite losing likely by stoppage, would have his moments - enough to make it a valiant effort.

Side note: I hope this fight is at the MGM Grand. I hate to see a great - genuine - champion travel to a foreign backyard, even if it is on my own doorstep. It makes them seem cheap, IMO, whatever their career accomplishments and how great they be. It's strange, but ever since it's started looking possible that Tszyu will come to Manchester I've felt a lingering feeling that he's being 'done'.

He'd do a lot better than the seriously out gunned Lloyd - talk about being thrown to the wolves. Poor guy wasn't even world class, and they throw him in with MAB?? You'll rarely see such a severe one round beating, looked like he'd been 15...

I think Harrison could do well against Barrera. He's big, strong and determined and could give the Mexican a great fight - that's assuming MAB tries to walk through him, which I think he might....

Wonder if Scot fancies meeting Barrera at the Plaza De Toros in Mexico City?

Barrera is too clever to lose against this type of fighter, even this late in his career.
