Forgive me but I had to laugh at this...

Post by klompton »

I was looking at some records today and found this annotation under Chavez-Randall 1:

"Unbeaten in 90 consecutive professional bouts, Chavez faced his most dangerous challenge to date against the talented Randall, and only traded even in furious exchanges and jab combinations. Randall frequently landed counterpunches right after Chavez landed, keeping the bout close. Chavez had one point taken away for low blows and lost a split decision, which would have been a draw if not for the point which was taken away."

Pretty funny. Nothing against Randall because he fought a great fight that night BUT guys like Rosario, Ramirez, Whittaker, Taylor, and several others might take issue with that statement. Furthermore while its technically true that it would have been a draw without the point deduction its also true that the scoring didnt really reflect how badly Randall beat Chavez. I wonder if a Chavez fan wrote this...

Brizel the guy who wrote that in the wiki writes a ton of crap. But he has the passion to try and write I guess, and if you try enough, sometimes maybe you'll write something that is decent.

I took the liberty of trimming of his commentary down to the notation of the point deduction, which is germane.
