I was curious to know what film record survives of fights where one of the boxers was seven foot tall?
especially from 1950's to 1980's?
I think it would be interesting to compare them to Nikoli Valuev;s style.

Re: Q./Seven foot tall boxers/on film/video
I remember back around 1985 when sportscaster Marv Albert use to come on the David Lettermen show regularly to show wild and wacky sports clips from the past months.
One showed a seven foot plus boxer getting knocked out by a 6 footer with a single punch.
The seven footer went down in sections in mid-air it seemed.
Looking for it on youtube.
anyone know which fight this was?

It might have been Mike 'The Giant' White who stood almost 7 ft and was active in the mid 80s.

I believe it was Tom Payne, a 7-2 former basketball player from the University of Ky. who had been in prison. He boxed in prison, came out and tried to be a boxer but didn't do well. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

Valuev is the only 7 foot boxer that I am aware of who started boxing when he was young and just grew up to be tall. Valuev does have skills, he isn't just a tall guy.
