He's just lost and he needs to justify it for his confidence. Ward *did* intentionally headbutt, though, and the referee was awful, so Kessler does have a point.

Headbutts or no Kessler would have had problems with Ward.......but I tell you what - Ward has just thrown this tournament wide open. I had Kessler a big favourite going into this.

You're correct. :TU:

My favourite before this tournament was Abraham and I'm sticking by that. Dirrell's going to give him trouble though.

he got outboxed from the opening bell.Don't think the headbutts changed the way the fight progressed. Kessler didn't look interested at all

going in i thought it was between kessler & abraham.

abraham is my new favourite.

ward a new 2nd favourite now though.

still a lot more to play out yet.

that's the great thing about this tournament.

kessler has froch and taylor to come.

so he's not out of anything yet. :shame:

I backed King Arthur also and I havn't seen anything from the other boxers that could really trouble him. I think Ward and Dirrell could be tricky but Abraham should be able to adapt as he always does.

That's how I feel whenever there's a spoiler/headbutter involved. :(

The thing I'm most interested to see is what Dirrell does when Abraham explodes. :o

The amazing thing was, they were saying Kessler's punches were missing even when he landed. And they were all shocked when everyone gave the fifth to Kessler. Showtime were just desperate to have an American winner. Ward did very well though, although how he was allowed to get away with all that holding and hitting was unreal. Hometown ref.

Don't mean to be rude manc_red but you gave the first two rounds for Kessler, rounds that Ward clearly won, they weren't even questionable.[/quote]

I gave the first 2 to Kessler too. And have just watched them again and would give them still to Kessler.
As I have said I am no fan of Kesslers at all but that was the worst bit of commentry I have ever heard.

I don't think Ward was a spoiler. What do you guys want him to do. He held at times like every fighter, but he was also was exploding with quick shots that had Kessler retreating constantly through the contest, and he was always keeping his jab working to the head and body. He boxed a perfect fight.
