BIGMARK wrote:Hey Tony, i know it must be great fighting infront of your home crowd but do you feel it effects your performence as you tend to try to hard to please them? (I ask this as i feel your last fight it really effected you)

Have you any plans to fight or train in the US in near future? of course seeing you got lost running in Portugal maybe the Us will be to big

yeah mate in my last fight when i heard the crowd going a bit quiet it me think it was a boring fight and made me wanna try and get the KO and get them making a load of noise but i will learn from it and learn to relax a bit more , there was thing i did wrong in that fight and all i can do is try and improve every fight

haha yeah portugal was intresting trip , Frank Maloney has mentioned in the past me working in the US in the future so maybe it will happen

cheers pal

how many ABAs did you enter Tone, what was your best placing, and what is your record as an Am. Cheers and good luck :TU:

I entered 2 Senior ABA's mate the 1st when i was 18 and lost to Tony Salam on points in the Semi's then when i was 20 i won them beating Salam in the semis and Joey Aniscough in the final

I won
2 schoolboy titles
2 NABC titles
1 Junior ABA
the England senior box off tournament
1 Senior aba

Gold in European Cadets
Bronze in Euro Juniors
Gold Indian Multi Nations
Gold Senior Liverpool Muli Nations
Olympic Bronze

and a load of other multi nations from junior to senior round the world

i had 95 AM fights i think i lost about 14 fought for England/GB 57 times and the last time i lost to an english fighter i was 15 in the schoolboys and the time before that was a local lad on my 2nd fight

Only ever lost to 2 Englishman

As I understand, you are already a successful businessman, yet you still have the ambition to pursue the hardest career in the world....what drives you to do this?

Second question is bit more general - do you prefer a Big Mac or quarter pounder with cheese? I go back and forth and am never sure......

yeah iv always thought i was a bit of an businessman, well more like making a bit of money when i can , i was working on a burger van, buying and selling cars, i always done alright from it and enjoyed it ,

i suppose i miss the challenge of earning a bit money but now as a pro im getting enough i dont have to do it any more ,

2nd answer
It might sound cheesy but my city drives me i want to do well for Sunderland and my dad too he's a massive part of my life and the reason i have been succsesfull in the game so far , so wanna do it for him and my family

Answer 3 , it has gott be a quarter pounder , i used to be a big mac man then went onto the quarter pounder but i dont think you can beat the double cheese mmmmmmm , im dieting now, and youve got me thinking about Maccy :-?

haha cheers pal

You want a double cheeseburger. Take off the pickles, spot on.

Whenever I have one I always think of the woman's voice on Masterchef when she says...blah blah blah Michelin Stars blah blah...."cooking doesn't get any better than this!"........Well it does, and it's a Macdonalds double cheeseburger!

haha nail on the head mate Take off the pickles, and when im feeling fat i'll throw a few chips in haha

Do you see the new situation that all promoters in this country now find themselves in - struggling for TV - making a difference and levelling the field of opportunity for all you guys?

Would you consider a move over seas if the opportunities were becoming unavailable in this country. Would you choose the USA or Germany which now seems to do very well for foreign guys?

i'll what my Dad (my manager ) and Promoter Frank Maloney think , they have my best interests at heart , what ever they think ,

i would choose usa over germany tho mate

Frank Maloney is brilliant the best decision i have made since Beijing he's kept all he's promises and is always a phone call away, he's some great staff working with him too James Russle and Andy Scott (who told me he's going to take over FTM 1 day :DDD :DDD )

Yeah but frank is spot on and i enjoy working with him

Tony,

When you're not pigging out on double chips, large pizza's, Maccy d's and the like, what's a typical diet for you when you're in training and how many miles would you run a week?

i like Price but of all the Olympic team that went pro he seems to be the one struggling to adjust to the pro game most, maybe i'm being harsh and its too early, what do you think and how different is the change from Am to pro?

i think price will come brilliant , he works really hard in the gym mate, im looking forward to watching him come throw the heavyweight ranks , i think hes a real world contender

Are you able to be specific on the diet?

i was upset about Darren it was a masssive massive shock to me and everybody eles ,

it took time to sink in, my amateur coach bobby bute died in 2005 i was devastated then and i was very very close to him to him and i had to move on

No mate i'm not easily distracted, its just good to be training away sometimes because its more like i'm in a training camp and there for purely training ,

but it does get tough living away and sometime i do think i wish i was training in Sunderland
