Re: Primetime. 1 fight=good value?

They should have showed some under card fights or some fights that were shown in the us that we never got to see over here.
Not great value

£5.95 was alright by me.
Id rather pay that and for the main event, than say, £15 for a Khan v Bum headliner, followed by a load of imported eastern bloc cack with ropey DIY tattoo's getting the crap kicked out of them by Degale etc.

You've got to support the super six. They did their part, now we've got to do ours.
I have no qualms about forking out for a good cause, the more successful this thing is, the more likely it is we'll see more of the same.
Not to mention it was a shocking fight, despite the crap ref.
Who thought they'd see Kessler being handled that way? I could've seen a close decision win by Ward but for him to neutralise Kessler to the point of looking totally forlorn and almost amateurish... that's something I'd have regretted missing if I'd have balked at a £6 price tag.

who got screwed by Primetime?
booked it to watch thru Sky, telephone line connected etc...anyway gets to 3am and does not come on so I call them, they say they will send signal again-could take 20 mins..20 mins elapses no Primetime, call again, this time get told to switch to another channel for 2 mins and they will send signal again...result, no Primetime..call again, this time get told to go to services and do some sky plus reconfig...does not work, call again, this time its 3.50, get told nothing more they can do, and to call back next day for refund...shocking, and everytime I called them i could hear other advisors having trouble with other callers...so muct no only have been me they screwed around...never again..
Re: who got screwed by Primetime?
Thats really unfortunate, as it potentially could be a good service.
But yeah, personnally I have little confidence booking stuff over the phone, and frankly issues such as this don't help.

You must admit the newcastle undercard s hits on the Froch-Dirrell one though? And,with hindsight admittedly, the headliner will be 10xbetter as well!Great to have it u.k time aswell and hopefully not a 90 minute "break" before the main event. Why do you have to be negative about all Fwanks shows? Is it jealousy?I know your bias(with good reason)to Froch, but, come on,his last show was a P.R disaster. The Froch camp always sounds so bitter.I love boxing, and paid for the Dirrell bout, and should love an exciting W.B.C champ, but him and his team just wind me up.They are going to end up with egg on their faces after this "super six".G0mez wrote:£5.95 was alright by me.

yeh mate, really sucked cos I was at a mates and we came home from going out, got the pizza on, stayed up espc for the fight, and their customer service staff, I felt sorry for, they sounded like they were left to deal with the sh@t without any decent technical backup...which I why I did not have a go at them..very poor.whicker wrote:Thats really unfortunate, as it potentially could be a good service.

mate booked it about 1am, but when I called up just after I booked online they did not say anything about the 4 hour rule...if they had I wouldn't have booked it..with normal sky box office you just click and buy, and if they dont get it sorted so you can do this they will lose viewers IMO...
Re: Primetime. 1 fight=good value?
i say no and luckily i didnt pay for it this time but did watch the primetime coverage on a free stream.
there was nothing just the main event from showtime and there was no undercard which was a poor one albeit. the first night was good with buncey and rosenthal and three live fights, but in oakland it wasnt too great.

They did a tutorial on Channel 480- and the promo screen mentioned the 4 hour delay.
Book earlier next time - they do advise.
Re: Primetime. 1 fight=good value?
voted yes.
bearing in mind we got the 3 fights in the super six for 20 pounds all told. we got 3 major fights between top names. its alot better than what we normally get on box office. if they bring us good fights for reasonable fees they should be supported. at least with primetime you knew what you were getting. you didnt order expecting 5 fights and only getting 3. it showed what you expected to be shown. both with the froch event and sat night.
the other thing that is good about primetime from an irish point of view is their conversion from pounds to euro. 5.95 = 6.95 euros.
the last froch card was 16 something inc registration which came to 17.98 euros on my statement. spot the difference with box office. 14.63 = 21 something euros. you might only say this is an extra four or five euros. but with the amount of ppv's , irish fans are bascially paying for 1 or 2 extra ppv's per year. 14.63 might have been equal to 21 euros 5 years ago , but its not now.
irish fans are paying four or 5 punds extra than english viewers per sky box office event. sky box office are ripping off irish fans compared to their english counterparts.

can't complain with that.
got the showtime coverage and some good trail in features.
american commentary has always been whack so we'll let that slide.
shame we don't have the choice more often.

Re: Primetime. 1 fight=good value?
I'll pay £5.95 for a fight of that quality week in week out, well done Primetime for bringing these fights to our shores
For the record, I had no problems ordering Kessler-Ward or Froch-Dirrell

The poll does not lie!
Re: Primetime. 1 fight=good value?
Well cannot blame primetime, they showed Showtime's coverage in full.
It would have been nice if Showtime show more fights.
I am worried about the Kessler vs Froch fight.... will primetime have their own camera's or just relay showtimes coverage. I can see it being the later, showtime showing just 1 fight and primetime charging the full whack for it!.
