In the Frankly Speaking column, there is an announcement of the upcoming ESPN "biopic" about Jack Johnson. James Earl Jones, who
the writer reminds us was the voice of Darth Vader, is to play Johnson,
the controversial first black heavyweight champion.
Darth Vader! Yes, I knew that. But Jones became famous playing a fighter named Jack Jefferson in the 1970 film The Great White Hope. Jefferson was based on Johnson in all but name. Jones was repeating the
role he introduced on Broadway.
Is Jones to provide the fighter's voice in the film? Will it be a documentary he will narrate? If it's a drama, Jones, now in his seventies,
certainly would not be able to portray the fighter.
I'll be looking forward to it.

Jack Johnson movie
I strongly supsect if James Earl Jones is portrarying Jack Johnson in this upcoming movie,it will be Jack Johnson during his later years.
Jack Johnson didnt die young like Bruce Lee(32 yrs),
he died in 1946 at the age of 69.
James Earl Jones is 74 years old.
Im wondering who is playing the middle aged Jack Johnson in the movie.
