Fury/Larry O/Dallas shocking record of imported opponents

Post by funso banjo baby »

check out the stats:

as relative novices, Tyson Fury/ Larry O/ and Tom Dallas have records which look like this:

british opponents = 7
foreign imports = 16 !!!!!

this is an old problem of course...building records whilst avoiding the perfectly decent domestic fighters.

Now check out the stats for Sam Sexton and Martin Rogan

british opponents = 15
foreign imports = 3 !!!

these guys are only just out of the novice stage ...and HAVE BOTH WON PRIZEFIGHTER ...and are currently numbers 1 and 2

just goes to show the difference between the school of hardknocks :box:

and the school of hype

Its not the fighters fault, is it?

The criticism shoud be directed at Fwank Wankwarrenanus - HS and FTM.

I remember when Richard 'The Secret' Wililams was fighting, he fought whoever they brought to him - even Sergio Martinez.

Fighters 'fight'

Managers 'manage'

Promoters 'Promote;

Matchmakers 'Match'!

To continue with the theme.

Bakers 'Bake' - Drivers 'Drive' - Singers 'Sing'

(And in honour of Hitmanhatton 1, Lee Harding and Hitman09')

Tossers 'Toss'

Funso, why does the number of imports versus domestic opponents suggest weaker matchmaking? For example, Ricky Hatton has fought more imports than Nadeem Siddique... or are three wins over Peter Buckley worth more than one over Kostya Tszyu?

I get your point, and yes I was being facetious, but why is a domestic journeyman automatically better than an imported one?

Because British heavyweights are really really poor, it really is that simple.

we know that domestic opps are tougher...historically

just look at audley's first 12pro fights

the imports were blasted

but the homegrown boys took aforce the distance and exposed him..(Krence, Negus and Francis)

i would add that very few active british hw's are going to be Ko'd by Fury

Well name them then, who are these British heavyweights who would agree to fight Fury at this time and provide him with tougher opposition?

i dont know the inside financial negotiations

but i seem to remember the likes of mike middleton etc were getting 25k for fighting audley ?? Mike Holden fought Skelton for about 3-5 k ?

Tyson fury is topping the tv bill on itv 4 so surely the likes of butlin, simkin, ferguson, barratt etc would fight

on another small note...i bet Danny Hughes is going to be avoided like the plague

props to Dallas for taking the baker fight tho :box: thats the way to do it....i give praise when its earned !
