Bumped into former WBO 11st world champion Harry Simon today and when I asked him about his future plans he told me that he wants to fight Wayne Alexander again, only this time in Namibia of all places!
It made me wonder why he would want Wayne again. After all, he did beat him once already. However, I get the impression that he's quite respectful of Wayne (and indeed his power) and that he at least duked it out with him.
Wasn't he going to campaign at super-middleweight?
Harry Simon v Wayne Alexander II

Must have been having you on when he realised you were English.
Re: Harry Simon v Wayne Alexander II
I aint sure about his weight in his comeback..... but he was Middleweight at the end of his "first" career, and a small middleweight.... he was being touted as a Joe Calzaghe opponent.

He was a class fighter in the late 90's early 2000's.Boxingmad wrote:Bumped into former WBO 11st world champion Harry Simon today and when I asked him about his future plans he told me that he wants to fight Wayne Alexander again, only this time in Namibia of all places!

What's he upto these days? Where did you see him?
Terrible shame about what happened in Namibia when he killed those people in his car.
Re: Harry Simon v Wayne Alexander II
Saw him at Heathrow airport. He was waiting for someone I think (as he was in arrivals).
Re: Harry Simon v Wayne Alexander II
He was training at the real fight club a few weeks ago
Re: Harry Simon v Wayne Alexander II
I got a message from wayne about this subject on facebook. He laughed and said it would take an awful lot of money to get him out of retirement.

Haha Harry Simon did say that it would be for huge money (apparently they in Namibia are very keen on seeing him box again). I talked to Wayne as well, and he said exactly the same thing as he did to you. Big money only!
One thing that has impressed me about Wayne is that he's resisted the temptation to come out of retirement (so far).
